I have been working in West Africa for the better part of 5 years. In that time, I have a few guys over here that look like they could be a freak athlete on the football field. This got me to wondering why college teams do not hold a short camp in some of these countries and look for a few of these players.

Is there any sort of NCAA rules against college teams coming over to foreign countries and holding camps? Any kid over here would jump at a chance to come to America. I know kids like the Nkemdiche brothers were born in America but their parents are Nigerian immigrants.

Definitely an interesting thought. I'd feel like it would be a waste for LSU who have their picking in the backyard. But for a talent dearth Power 5 school like Iowa State or Colorado, it could make sense to try and create a pipeline abroad.

I don't know how immigration would work or academic eligibility would work. Most of the Africans who come over and play football come from extremely wealthy families or even royalty with great educational backgrounds. It wouldn't work with most of the population who might be illiterate or have very limited academic training. Although that hasn't stopped Bama in the past, just kidding... sort of...

I always wondered why NFL teams didn't set up camps in Africa. It's a wealth of untapped talent all over Africa.

Our Africans are better than their Africans.

As always, Africa always wins. (sarcasm).

If it were really worth it don't you think some nfl exec would have thought of it already and would be already doing it ?
