LSU Bowl Game Viewing Experience

I wanted to make this thread a couple of weeks ago but you'll understand why I was unable to do so once you hear my story.
On December 28th, I had my right hip surgically reconstructed in Houston, TX. They told us beforehand that it would be at minimum a 4-day stay in the hospital.
The medical professionals start talking about how they might release me a day early because of my physical therapy progress, but then eventually decide to put things off for another day. I tell several of them up front that I would prefer an afternoon discharge because my alma mater is playing at 10 A.M., and I would like to be able to watch the game relatively undisturbed.
The individual I spoke to said that wouldn't be much of a problem.
Fast forward to 8 A.M. New Year's Eve...a male nurse I haven't met until now tells me that they plan on discharging me that morning. Obviously, I'm upset given what I was previously led to be believe.
Still, I figure I might miss a few minutes and everything will be okay (the house we were staying in happened to only be about 10 minutes from the medical district).
But no, the damn nurses show up right at 10 A.M. and start telling us that we have to be out in a few minutes. Now mind you, I've been bed-ridden for about 98% of my hospital stay. They just removed my catheter the day prior, and I failed miserably at maneuvering crutches during my last day of physical therapy.
It takes about six minutes just to get me up and out of the bed and into a wheelchair. Then, it takes another several minutes to get me into the SUV my girlfriend was driving. Mind you, the large male orderly/nurse who helped wheel me out did not bother to offer any assistance helping me into vehicle. It's just drugged up me, epidural was removed the day before so I was on oxycontin, and my girlfriend attempting to move my 190-lb body and my dead-weight right leg.
After an immense struggle and significant discomfort, I finally get into the vehicle. We drive to the place where we're staying, and all I can think about the whole time is getting to a TV so that I can watch the game. I go to get out of the vehicle, another five-minute ordeal, and once I'm up on my crutches I nearly bust my arse on the wet pavement. I wind up twisting awkwardly and I'm in major frickin' pain at this point.
We get inside and I nearly collapse onto the couch. My poor girlfriend spends several minutes trying to get the game on until we realize that the television only has a limited cable package (no ABC for some reason). She then takes a couple of minutes to pull up the game on WatchESPN on her computer. By this point, there is less than two minutes to go in the first half.
I am agonizing in pain to the point where I can't even watch the game. I wind up passing out and wake up sometime late in the third quarter.
The entire game was a blur. When I eventually watched the replay I didn't remember 90% of the second half I supposedly watched.
Sorry for the verbose post. I just thought I'd share that with you guys in case you had a bad game-viewing experience recently.
At least we won the game.

Wasn't the game on ABC? You didn't even need cable to watch it

I wish you wrote in the vernacular to reach a larger audience.
Have an upvote.

That's what I meant, my bad. Either I was too drugged out to remember the right channel or the TV didn't have ABC for whatever reason.

Man the people on this board are F'ing miserable people. Guy shares a story and people downvote him, or condescend.

I hope you're feeling better but I need to be honest. The way you told your story had me rolling on the floor.

Steve,
We could have used you on Omaha beach my man! Hell of a story.
I'm still waiting for the Clemson-Bama title game replay to come on so I can send my son-in-law another 200 nasty e-mails. Best I can tell Bama must have had it banned from replay on cable networks???
