Run the ball, don't risk turnovers and rely on daniels feet and the defense making plays. It's not pretty but it's the best chance to win.

Bring in Paul Johnson as a consultant and install the triple option

I would give Nuss and JD equal reps this week.

Start JD and tell him he has a total of 2 possessions to score a TD, if he can't do that, go with the more accurate passer that can carve up those DB's as opposed to trying to dink and donk against a good D front and LB's.

We’re going to have to throw vertically and exploit their secondary. Keep them honest there and we’ll get some good opportunities to ground and pound.

If they don’t respect our passing game and we can’t make hay, it’s going to be a long game for us.

It was never winnable.

Play vanilla and get ready for Florida.

80 yards passing and 5 yards in the 2nd half would only beat UAB on our schedule maybe. Quick passing, designed runs, wide receiver screens, option, a solid running game RPOs and taking 2-3 shots deep in a half is our best option to win the game.

You’re not entirely wrong, we need to play to our strengths and not let Tennessee dictate the pace.

That said, we have to be able to be able to hit a couple of deep shots and 7 or 8 intermediate passes at key times.

JD definitely has to have a short leash going forward, unless he somehow snaps in and starts passing the rock

Screw that. Need to air it out. Tennessee is 4 from the bottom in passing yards allowed. They win with offense.

When has Nuss ever shown this?

FIFY.

Gotta convert some, if not most, of your 3rd down opportunities. Need to take your time and take snaps away from Tennessee's offense. And you need to score TDs when you're in or near the RedZone. FGs won't win you this game and being solely a 4th Quarter team certainly won't win you this game.

Oh you mean Nussmeier? The one with the career completion percentage of 55.2%? And 3 career TD to 4 career INT? And send me a link to video where he is "carving up those DB"

OP- when have you seen Nuss carve up anything? Are you so dense as to believe he is better than Daniels but the coaches keep him on the bench. Just a horrible take all around.

We're gonna find out how creative Denbrock is this week. Daniels has to play more aggressive and take shots. Our receivers are significantly better than their secondary. We have to exploit that.

How creative can you be when our qb is literally one of the worst qbs in cfb at gaining passing yards when a pass is thrown?

Like most any game, a one-sided run approach will be a loser. I would attack our secondary, we are hurt and vulnerable. A mix of plays, ball control is key, you don't want to leave Heupel with a lot of clock time, he has a penchant for finding more and more points.
