With all the runs that LSU has scored lately, I was wondering what is the most runs LSU has scored in a game? I remember going to a game in the 90s and LSU scored something like 28 or 29 runs and hit like 7-8 home runs.

Did we beat Alabama 28-2 and then win the next game, or was it the reverse?

Not sure exactly but you're right, they dropped almost 30 on a team in the late 90's. And if I'm not mistaken I believe it was Southern

349-2

It was an exhibition match against Tulane in 1934.

Tulane just wouldn't give up

What about most runs in a season? I'm sure we have a long way to go to reach those run-happy days of Gorilla Ball!

It was the last series of the regular season. LSU needed one game to win the conference. Bama won Friday (I forget score) and won 28-2 on Saturday but LSU came back and won on Sunday and won the regular season SEC title.

It will be unreachable with these bats, whoever holds the runs record (which I'm assuming is us).

And then we spanked that Bammer arse for the Championship in the CWS in the same year. It was 15-1 or some such shite.

Am I wrong, or did we get beat by Mississippi State or Ole Miss in the 90's something like 30-very little. Bertman brought in multiple players to pitch and we just couldn't stop them. Was the only time I've ever actually laughed at an LSU loss.

Did I dream this or did this really happen? I was kinda young at the time so my memory is a little fuzy.

858 Wichita state '82

Another fun fact : LSU holds the record for most consecutive games with a HR (77) '96-'98
That is crazy! Doubt anyone will come close to that again. along with the 188 HR's for a season

LSU also holds the record for Doubles in an inning (8) in that GT game in '96

It wasn't that big of a blowout, but the game was relatively out of hand.

I believe we got our asses spanked by Ole Miss one Sunday and Ryan Theriot came on to pitch

I somewhat remember reading some archives back in the day that some team they had in the 80s had a RIDICULOUS record like 55-6 or something like that. May have been better than Texas A&M's beastly team we upset in the regionals in the late 80s.
