Does that make any sense?

Makes perfect sense. It will happen again this year. Maybe with guys a little more projectible than Katz or Rhymes, but it will happen.

I would think low ceiling college pitchers that project in the bullpen would be good pick ups there. They can be quick risers as righty or lefty specialists, and it's even better if they don't cost a whole lot.

Unfortunately it's all about the $ now. "How much can we save by taking this guy here?" A lot of guys drafted 'out of place' because of how much they'll save the team, not because of their skill level.

With the new rules, there are only 40 rounds now. So let's hope it's before then!

No shite, I never heard that. Thanks for pointing that out. Now I really don't think Rhymes will get drafted.

With that being said what chance does Cotton have getting drafted with a below 90's fastball

Not very good. He is a 5'10" lefty that sits around 85.

Explain to me his terrible season last year???????

5-3, 3.83 ERA, 94 IP, 63 K, 28 BB, 1.44 WHIP, 8 HR

Define terrible.

His numbers took a dive at the end of the year because of fatigue. It was his first full season since his surgery and he was pitched a few too many innings.

Kevin Gausman's Freshmen numbers - 5-6, 3.51 ERA, 86 K, 23 BB - and I am pretty sure that guy ended up getting drafted pretty high.

Just stop trying to talk about baseball bro. Please do us the favor of talking about Women's Basketball or something for a few years. Then maybe you can come back and make some valid points.

I'm still not really impressed with Eades! He got rocked last weekend. Once they get his timing down he is done. If they start hitting him its over you might as well take him out. Maybe they could develope him but I don't think they can.

Ya, I don't know what pro scouts are thinking with this guy. I mean, it's not like he's a 6'4", athletic kid with a mid 90's fastball, a breaking ball that buckles your knees and a sick change up who can get you out with all three pitches....O wait...

The kid had one subpar performance this year against a top 10 team with an umpire with a terrible strike zone. Come on man, give me a break. Even Strasburg has a bad day every now and then. I take it you're not an MLB scout, am I right?

maybe the minor leagues will take the pressure off him

If you aren't making hardly any money at all and fighting for a spot every week then there is a lot of pressure on your shoulders.
