Again. It doesn't necessarily matter what you have. But what a cable provider in your media market offers/is airing.

Even better than that, Suddenlink passes both their cable and Internet on the same line. I have a splitter on the Suddenlink cable that comes into my house. 1 cable goes to the modem, and the other goes into the back of the TV. It's poor quality, but it works and it is FREE.

If it is active go to https://whatismyipaddress.com/ it should show your location as in California or somewhere else away from where you really are.

What location did it show?

I also went to settings and turned off the selection to have it start every time you open a website. I only use it for sports blackouts.

Hmm, I wonder if XBOX Live using the ESPN App will work? It did for the Cincy series.
