Let me get this straight, you start a thread whining about other people, and then you have the gall to accuse someone of being a pussy?

Someone thinks Ott should start. so what? I think its a bad idea, but its not out of the bounds of discussion. Why do you feel so threatened by different opnions that you have to start a different thread to ridicule them? Why not post in that thread and explain why it's a bad idea? If its so stupid, it shouldn't be that hard.

This is a place for the free exchange of ideas. Let the best idea win. If your only argument in favor of something is "you're stupid", then that's not very convincing.

That's what makes TD better than a lot of other sites.

It seems to me that every year there is a brand new crop of baseball fans.

For instance, anyone who was around as recently as one year ago should understand that being the #whatever national seed is of no consequence. Anyone who has seen a baseball game at any level should not refer to runs as points.

Hopefully, we are adding to our great baseball fanbase every year and these topics are their LSU Baseball 101.

As in life, the bigger the dumbass the fewer people around to listen and the bigger desire by the person to "tell it like it is". Just listen to WWL callers.

I can't believe someone said we should forefit or that we throw the same guy two days in a row.... wow

Austin Nola
Jared Mitchell
Jordan Jefferson
Jarrett Lee
Paul Mainieri
Les Miles
Matty Ott

That list is just from a search of you posts and reading the first 4 pages of results.

1) You shouldn't pitch Bradshaw because we may need him at Shortstop.
2) You shouldn't pitch Ranaudo because he's got an ingrown toenail.
3) Coleman will not burn his arm because he will throw left handed for the remainder of the year.
4) Mainieri is not over his head because Smoke Laval calls him between innings and tells him what to do.
5) We should not forfeit because we already paid the hotel for an extra night.
6) Austin Nola's parents wrote a check to LSU that bounced (bad economy), but PM continues to play him.

There, you happy? You really feel explanations were needed?

Thanks, g. Sorry I've been avoiding your game threads. My new girlfriend has never watched college baseball before, so we've been watching the games online. It's made it too hard to post in the threads while watching the games online with her.

For the record, her favorite player is Ochinko. Well, and Matty Ott.

After all of yesterdays discussion during the delay, I would venture to say we have a lot of morons in our fanbase on here. I was blown away.

Are you serious?

I've been one of Lee's biggest defenders on this whole site. I don't think I've ever made a post on Jefferson, though it's possible. There was a long debate about platooning Mitchell, but that's hardly me saying I think he sucks. Saying he's struggled against lefties and should only face righties is hardly out of the bounds of baseball discussion. I also, by the way, called him one of our best hitters.

I have repeatedly posted that I think PM is the best coach in the country and I absolutely love Les Miles.

I rave about Matty Ott's absurd K/BB ratio and joke about hi ability to strikeout Chuck Norris.

Do I criticize strategy? all the time. That's what this site is for. But not once have I ever criticized a player personally and I rarely say anything about my fellow fans. I certainly don't start threads to bash people or players.

If you can't have a discussion in which opposing viewpoints are expressed, you probably shouldn't be on a message board.

Quite true. That's what is so great about being a winner. You get new fans every year.

I love how if someone is a new fan then they are stupid or idiotic around here.

There are some real mental midgets around here and it's not the guys asking the questions.

Guys, it's not Tigerdroppings.com. It's the internet. The internet allows everyone to be experts in everything. You just have to live with it. I'm on here frequently but seldom contribute; you get to know the posters who know what they're talking about. No need to worry about things that you can't control.

The clueless college geeks you guys speak of are the same age as the makeup of the baseball team. The difference is that the guys from the team have grown up playing ball.

Guys making ignorant posts on this site probably have never played ball but love the LSU spirit and probably also enjoy watching baseball (even thought they don't understand it.) Teach these guys why their comments are insensible and they may appreciate the game at the same time making this site more bearable for us.

And of course there will be a new crop of "morons" each year as a new crop of frosh come in...get used to it.

Why would you want to do that when you can make a smart arse post making fun of them and adding absolutely nothing to this site?

Don't forget their need to ask questions that have been answered at least 150 times over the course of a 3 hour game, yet fail at reading comprehension because the answer is right in front of their faces. Perhaps it is just being lazy to just click around a couple of pages?

Took an IQ test last year and scored 130 on it. So, if you're wondering about our IQ's...there's a sample.

(8) Best one, if they can not finsh the game (yesterday's first game against UGA), will Bradshaw be the winning pitcher since he has thrown a pitch yet?
