LSU baseball commit flashback - Texas Rangers tonight

Delino Deshields leading off for the Rangers while Joey Gallo is batting 6th and making his major league debut. Is 2 for 2 with a HR and 4 RBI already.

That sucks. Deli I stole like 100 bases in high A and Gallo hit for almost 50 hr last year. That would've been a unreal combo

Gallo would have hit 20+ HRs with ease this year.

Oh and I saw Cam Bedrosian pitching for the Angels a couple nights ago. He was around 2010 as well.

Don't really remember Gallo that well; DeShields was never coming here. We were at best, a bargaining chip.

Yep we were a "backup option" for Deshields only in case he didnt get drafted high enough. HE even told David Grewe that straight up I remember.
Gallo we had a decent shot at, but then he got offered a million over slot and that was game over. Gallo is a guy though who if he came to college could have ended up going Top 10/15 I think.

I have no problem with the kids that get big money and are honest about
their motives. ZVR and Colvin both lied to Lsu and were just trying to get as good a deal
as possible, though neither got what they told Manieri was their signing minimum.
