Everyone knew that.

Paul had neck surgery last year and it’s still a huge issue for him.

McDonnell
O’Sullivan
Vitello

T3 options not necessarily in that order.

For those who don’t like Sully are tripping. There is no Skip Bertman out there fellas. Vitello had one good year this year with mostly seniors and juniors.

Sully wouldn’t be terrible but while he has a big edge on experience and decision making between the lines you can make an argument he is a much bigger risk as a recruiter/roster builder than Vitello is.

Vitello had a good year this with a team he built from nothing and after losing the #11 overall draft pick (his ace pitcher). He also lost his #2 pitcher who was undrafted but signed a FA contract. He lost his best hitter in the 2nd round and his second best hitter in the 4th round (both outfielders)

He took a team that finished 7-21 in the SEC the year before he got to Knoxville and hadn't made the NCAAT since 2005 and finished 12-18 his first year, made a regional final his second year, were 20-1 before the season was cancelled last year, and will be a national seed his 4th year. So, it's a knock on him that he's winning at an elite level with a team he built from nothing?

Vitello was also the recruiting coordinator for TCU and built the team that went to 4 straight CWS and the recruiting coordinator for Arkansas and helped built the team that is #1 in the country right now and finished runner-up in 2018.

Hes earned the right to relax the rest of his days.

Just hope O'sullivan isn't the replacement.

They were really bad when he got there and they've improved every year.

They were last place in the East the year before he got there.
2018 they were still tied for last but were 5 games better in conference play.
2019 they were 3rd.
2021 1st.

O'Sullivan is in some hot water in Gainsvillke for some off the field extra curriculars. He will come nowhere near LSU right now.

I dont think Vitello has enough resume yet.
