That sucks. We should be #1. The sky is falling.

Let's see, UT is ranked #2 in football, #2 in basketball and #1 in baseball. Pretty damn impressive.

sure am glad championships are taken into consideration...texas will not beat bama...LSU has 2 football crystals this decade & we know about baseball...and i don't think barnes will ever win a national championship in basketball

eta: dont get me wrong i would love for LSU to have these same rankings

Pretty sure I'll get ripped to shreads on this but that may be the most ignorant statement I have ever seen. Centenary, William and Mary, Brown??? Not to mention 1 OOC away game. 1!

Point taken, but I think the original poster was talking about conference play more so than OOC play.

There is no way it'll be ready on time.

You guys realize these polls are much more of a reaction to last year than this year, right?

2010 NCBWA Preseason Poll
1. Texas
2. LSU
3. Virginia
4. Cal State Fullerton
5. Arizona State
6. Georgia Tech
7. Florida State
8. U.C. Irvine

2009 CWS Participants
Texas
Cal State Fullerton
LSU
North Carolina
Arizona State
Virginia
Arkansas
Southern Miss

2009 NCBWA Preseason Poll
1 North Carolina
2 LSU
3 Rice
4 Texas A&M
5 Georgia
6 Florida State
7 Arizona State
8 Texas

2008 CWS Participants
Miami (FL)
North Carolina
Fresno State
Florida State
Stanford
Rice
LSU
Georgia

Notice how a CWS participant is more likely to be in the next year's preseason poll than that year's preseason poll.

Texas will be tough to beat with that pitching

i like our team though. If a weekend starter steps up we'll be right back in the thick of things.

pitching wise, we certainly have a lot to choose from, itll be interesting to see who steps up as the third starter

It's not like the Big 12 sucks. They have some pretty good programs out there. Sure, the SEC is tougher, but its not like Texas is playing in the Sun Belt.

The Longhorns think they are the best at everything. They are one of the best overall sports programs in the nation, better than LSU's overall. But individually in the major sports not so much. They have 1 football title in the last almost 40 years, LSU has 2 in the last 7 seasons. LSU is the top baseball program in the nation, 6 titles in less than 20 years (UT has 5 in over 50 years) and no one comes even close. They have never sniffed a basketball title, 1 final four in the last 60 years.
