LSU is overmatched. Nobody, not even Leonard Fournette can move the ball on that defense! Best team in the SEC and maybe college football.

I wanted to see how they stacked up against power 5 teams and how those numbers compared to each other. So I totaled up the offensive and defensive numbers vs power 5 teams. Because who really gives a shite that either side was dominant vs Northwest Upper City Technical State University. ***Prepare yourself for a wall of numbers...jump to the bottom for the team comparison***

LSU
~State
Offense 337 yards 71 pass 266 rush
Defense 378 yards 335 pass 43 rush

~Auburn
Offense 485 74 pass 411 rush
Defense 260 100 pass 160 rush

~Cuse
Offense 425 157 pass 268 rush
Defense 281 154 pass 127 rush

~South Carolina
Offense 624 228 pass 396 rush
Defense 283 209 pass 74 rush

~Florida
Offense 423 202 pass 221 rush
Defense 326 271 pass 55 rush

BAMA
~Wisconsin
Offense 502 264 pass 238 rush
Defense 268 228 pass 40 rush

~Ole Miss
Offense 503 288 pass 215 rush
Defense 433 341 pass 92 rush

~UGA
Offense 379 190 pass 189 rush
Defense 299 106 pass 193 rush

~Arkansas
Offense 396 262 pass 134 rush
Defense 220 176 pass 44 rush

~A&M
Offense 396 138 pass 258 rush
Defense 316 284 pass 32 rush

~Tennessee
Offense 364 247 pass 117 rush
Defense 303 171 pass 132 rush

LSU totals (5 games)
Offense 2294 yards 732 passing 1562 rushing
Defense 1528 yards 1069 passing 459 rushing

Alabama totals (6 games)
Offense 2540 yards 1389 passing 1151 rushing
Defense 1839 yards 1306 passing 533 rushing

Per game Averages:
~Offenses
LSU: 459 yards 146 passing 312 rushing
Bama: 423 yards 232 passing 191 rushing

~Defenses
LSU: 305.6 yards 213.8 passing 91.8 rushing
Bama: 306.5 yards 217.6 passing 89 rushing

So far all the talk about Alabama's world beater defense, LSU's defense essentially is identical when we look at yardage while LSU has a slight statistical offensive edge.

LSU is better in the turnover column as well. A thing which analysts seem to completely ignore, even though they acknowledge it...

In those P5 games, Brandon has thrown for a total of 94 attempts vs Coker's 167 attempts.

Yes we've played one less game than Bama but thats 73 more passing attempts for a total of a mere 337 more passing yards than us.

Coker pooCheese and I'll be watching him go to shite this Saturday

True. I also left out points per game but I didn't want to sort though to adjust for things like special teams scores. Scoring defense would likely favor Alabama.

Shhhh, don't tell them. They are the master of all stats that give them an advantage.

There is nothing slight about our offensive edge.

Everyone is focused on Brandon Harris or the Defense, but the truth is that this game is going to come down to two things.

1.) Can the Special Teams step up and give us decent field position?

2.) Can the defense create turnovers? Either on downs or by ball-hawking.

You are guys are giving this wayyyy too much thought. All that stat-counting and game planning is pointless because at the end of the day everyone here is just a fan so just relax and wait till Saturday to see what happens.

All that stats in the world are going to be irrelevant when we leave Tuscaloosa with a loss. There's a reason most people are picking them.

Hurricane Tiger, besides the presence of Leonard and our OL that could end up being the most important element for LSU in winning this game - Turnover margin. Basically LSU has not turned the ball over against anyone. Alabama has given the ball away far too much for a team as talented as they are. Something must give on Saturday night.

100%

Our offense and their defense aren't the question marks. Its the other units.
