2 pretty good looking wins against subpar teams this week. I know it doesnt mean much with over a month to go, but making the rankings would be nice recognition for some guys that are playing good ball right now...

Thoughts???

Should be, but media is too busy foaming over ACC, Big Least, and B12 teams.

we might squeak in this week; took over first place in SEC last weekend and held on to that position this week, with two comfortable wins over bad teams. pretty sad that the SEC doesn't have a single team in the top 25.

Nope.

Buckeyes will get in instead. Two wins this week over top 25 teams.

No. We have to beat State and Floridia to get in.

I would bet almost anything we are ranked in at least one poll Monday. About 5 teams ranked below #17 lost this week (some twice).

I think LSU ends up #23 or #24

3 teams in the top 25, and the media is foaming over the Big 12?

One of those B12 teams, Texass, lost to Arkansas, and just lost to NU yesterday. How can that team be taken seriously with those kinds of losses?

Well, they only change the rankings once a week. It's not like they change them on a day to day basis.

I guarantee you Texas won't be ranked tomorrow, or whenever the new rankings come out.

And at the time, that Arkansas loss didn't look as bad as it does now.

Well the new poll hasn't come out yet, dipshit.

Also Arkansas beat Oklahoma to give them their only loss of the season so far. Arkansas isn't that bad, or maybe by your standards OU, the #2 team in the country, shouldn't be ranked.

Really, dipshit? Thanks for the nugget of wisdom.

I'm not debating OU being ranked, dipshit.

Texass lost to UArk WEEKS ago, and that loss apparently hasn't phased the pollsters since then. Maybe their loss yesterday will mean something, we'll see...when the new polls are released.

it would be a crime for us not to be ranked imho. we are 7-1 in the SEC and all but one of those games (at TENN) has been a blowout
and honestly, the SEC is not as bad OOC as ppl make it out to be. Tenn has beaten Marquette and Gtown. Ark beat Texas and #2 OU, SC beat Clemson i think. and there have been several near misses as well (us against Xavier for example)

Well you were asking how a team that lost to Nebraska can be taken seriously by being ranked.

Texas hasn't been taken seriously since that loss yesterday, and they'll probably drop out of the polls after now losing three in a row.

I agree with that opinion. It will be interesting to see how many SEC teams get in the tournament, and what the seeds are.

I think yesterday ESPN projected 5 teams, with UThug having the highest seed (5), which seems strange.

It's not like the Nebraska team that they lost to is a horrible team. They're ranked in the top 4 in the Big 12 right now.

Just sayin.

Even if they did win yesterday, I don't really think they should be ranked this week. 2 straight home losses to unraked Mizzou and K-State squads.

In the AP poll, the following teams lost and most will probably be behind LSU.

#16 texas (L2)
#19 Minn (L2)
#20 Syracuse (L1) - might stay above LSU
#22 Wash (L1) and play at Stanford tonight
#23 Illinois (L1)

Teams with more votes than LSU:
Dayton, Davidson, and PSU all lost a game. Missouri won twice (including over UT)

I think Mizzou and LSU easily get in the AP top 25.
