There are so many crazy games in this series. However, on this nasty day I can’t help but think of Jarvis Landry single-handedly destroying Auburns’ special teams. Football has changed so much since then; I don’t think the game will ever allow that type of aggression again. I know there are countless examples of how crazy this series is, but that’s where I’m at today.

The two that stand out most is the Byrd catch in the end zone after Miles mismanaged the hell out of the clock at the end of that one. I was pissed off after a thrilling win.

And then the Early Doucet no PI call. That was a great game that should have gone in our favor.

I hate Auburn.

Single-handedly??
I think you’re misremembering. He had at least 1 big hit on kickoff in 2011.

In that same game on another kickoff, Eric Reid & Mingo absolutely destroyed the returner and forced a fumble.

2001.

Bad blood with Teletubby after the cigar incident. Winner goes to Atlanta. Dancing on the eye before the game, resulting in the surprise onside from midfield. The Golden Band kicking Damon Duval's arse. Convincing beatdown of the warplainschickens.

Was in Jordan Hare for that no call.

My most memorable is this Skylar Green Punt Return for TD:

Honorable mention to the absolute roller coaster of a contest that DJ Chark flipped with his own punt return and the day Leonard introduced Auburn to Buga nation.

I was a couple sections away from you. I remember seeing seeing that defender flying off Fournette’s shoulders.

It was so hot that day.

This one was my Senior year at LSU, and we took the road trip to Atlanta the following week and made a pit stop through Auburn's campus flying our LSU flags. Follow up in that it was rescheduled due to 9/11, made for an absolutely electric Tiger Stadium.

Me to. This was my wedding day... sat with all my groomsmen watching the game and we couldn't beleive it.

My first LSU/AU memories was the Earthquake game (I was 9). Our neighbors were big AU alum and fans. I remember the game vividly from the NW corner of the stadium. I couldn't really see but the crowd went nuts and I knew we scored.
Then the next week of school, drawing my buddy a picture of the score board in class and giving it to him...

was also in attendance for Bring Back the Magic, Byrd catch, Fournette game. So many of my TS memories are from Auburn games.

I remember the 2018 game at auburn. Was driving up and suddenly some tickets open up right behind or bench, u called my auburn buddies and they passed saying that was in the sun and they had shaded seats. Big deal I thought.

It must have been 120 degees, their cleats were actually sticking to little turf spots they were kicking off in sidelines. The area I was sitting was probably 60/40 auburn. After the first quarter anyone from this section that went up to concessions brought back as much water as they could carry and just gave it out to everyone. On my second run at start of 4th quarter they ran out of water. We said duck it and watched the end at my sons apartment. Hottest game I have ever been too

Watching Fournette from my seats in the north end zone destroy the entire Auburn defense in 2015 and the Byrd catch in 2007 stand out. 2001, 2003, 2005, 2017, 2019 were great games as well.

Earthquake game will always be that definitive LSU/Auburn game for me. Big upset, slobber knocker game with incredible ending and unbelievably loud crowd.

1980 in Tiger Stadium ... game came down to the last few seconds as LSU held on to win 21-17 even with James Brooks rushing for 210 yds which was an opponent rushing yards record in TS.

These were the days of tear away jerseys. I was around 11 years old and after the game, I walked down to the AUB sidelines. The trainer gave me one of Brooks torn #21 jerseys. I mistakenly left it in the trunk of my late grandfathers car and we had to air out the vehicle for days. One of the stories that my grandparents would always bring up during Auburn week.

Great read of the game and it's typical LSU/AUB fashion

final 7 minutes of the 4Q with LSU trailing:

"Sure, Auburn missed the kick, but they were still up by three and the clock was winding down. LSU took over with under seven minutes on the clock. Risher would barely convert a first down on 3rd and 5, but then would really start getting going. A pass interference call moved the ball down the field, followed up by a 34 yard pass reception by Hokie. After two running plays setting up 3rd and 3 and the 15, Risher would find his tight end, Malcolm Scott in the middle of the field, and he would run it in for a touchdown. LSU was back up, 21-17 with 3:05 to play.

Auburn couldn’t move the ball after the kickoff, and on fourth and 7 from their own 34, they elected to punt. LSU took over on their own 26, needing only to drain the last 1:39 from the clock to secure victory. Mike Montz would carry it for six and then three yards, but on third and one, he was held for no gain. Looking at fourth and one with under a minute to play, Stovall elected to punt.

Clifford Toney would break through the line and block the punt, which Johnny Green would then recover at the 11 yard line. Auburn had 49 seconds, no timeouts, and four downs to score a touchdown to pull off a miraculous victory.

Jerry Stovall would call a timeout and gather his defense around him. I’m not sure what he said in that defensive huddle, but it worked. But for a moment, it nearly didn’t.

On first down, Sullivan found Byron Franklin wide open in the end zone. The pass hit him right in the numbers for an easy touchdown. But he dropped it, and with it, the sure victory. Sullivan’s next two passes fell incomplete, and on fourth down, Marcus Quinn earned his second interception of the night at the one yard line. Quinn would almost return it all the way for a touchdown the other way, but he was hauled down at the 26. Besides, flags flew all over the place. LSU fans waited with baited breath for the call… clipping. The penalty erased most of the return, but the interception held up.

Risher would walk on to the field and successfully kneeled the ball out of the victory formation for one of the sweetest and most emotional wins in Tiger Stadium history. Auburn coach Doug Barfield would complain about the crowd, giving them the credit for the win. Even Stovall admitted that had the game been played any place else, Auburn would have won."

The Earthquake Game, The Night The Barn Burned and Cigar game sticks out to me because I was there for all. I'll also never forget the Five Interception Game. I was screaming at the TV, why are you still passing?

For me, 1980 homecoming vs Auburn. I was a freshman, the student section was insane.

The game was back and forth. Defensive game with missed FGs on both sides. Marcus Quinn intercepted a pass on the Auburn 39 and 4 downs later, on 4th and inches, QB Allan Risher took the ball around the end for a TD putting LSU up 14-3. But Auburn fought back and scored on a long drive then took advantage of a turnover to go up 17-14.

After another missed Auburn field goal, LSU drove and went up 21-17 with 3:05 left in the game. LSU help Auburn to 3 and out forcing a punt. LSU has the ball with 1:39 left and gets to a third and one but can't convert. Then Auburn blocks the punt and gets the ball back with 49 seconds left at the 11 and no timeouts.

The first pass to a wide-open receiver in the endzone is inexplicably dropped. The next two are incomplete. Then Marcu Quinn jumps a route and takes the pass almost back to the house though there was a block in the back that would have nullified the run back anyway. Risher then takes a knee. Awesome game and that pick is one of my fondest moments in TS.

Here is a great write up on the game
