Maybe people believe it not judging the person rather the lifestyle. So just because someone doesn't agree with homosexuality then they are automatically listed racist homophobe etc... I agree 100%. But he should have had the foresight to know that being in his position as a well-liked and respected running back for the flagship institution of a state, he shouldn't make these kinds of statements.
