LSU as an institution has settled for mediocrity in sports, or worse.

Orgeron being hired as head coach without a true search being made, Miles not being fired at the end of last year, etc. are all just symptoms of the larger problem. Bureaucratic paper pushers like Alleva and F King at the top are destroying sports at LSU. Only if that house is cleaned out and we get replacements truly committed to competing for championships will LSU be relevant again. I'll always be an LSU fan, but it's sad to see the totally preventable slide this program has taken under the current incompetent administration.

The leader of the university is adamantly opposed to the athletic department. What do you expect? Ultimately, this all falls back to Jindal.

Even with Alleva and King in charge, I expected a little better in regards to the football program. I expected at least a coaching search and not have a friggen binder dictate your coaching hire.

The binder meant nothing. The binder was a made up piece of propaganda to make LSU fans feel like Alleva was justified in hiring Orgeron based on his "homerun interview." Alleva was not prepared, ran out of options when it was apparent Herman was going to UT, and had no other option to hire Orgeron.

I fear this is right.
F. King declared "academic bankruptcy" last year to the embarrassment of the entire state, and seems intent on proving that state budget cuts to the school affects the football program, as well. As most know, the football program makes(er..., "made")a lot of money, some of which it give to the school.
Here's betting F. King gave Alleva strict budget limitations on what he could pay for a head coach, and that the "search" was perfunctory.
BTW, Jindal's appointees still control the BOS.

This is it. Jindal is Indian so he never gave a frick about LSU football. FKA is a liberal prick who doesn't like athletics in general, much less LSU football. He's more interested in promoting diversity and equality throughout the realm of higher education. Alleva is an incompetent NY hack who has been a joke wherever he's been. So what the hell do you expect? FKA and Alleva need to be run out on a rail. There's no other way.

we're talking about fallible human beings. they want to do their best, but they are human.

these guys are struggling to deliver. they may fail, and make some mistakes, but they are trying.

no one is settling for mediocrity.

Geaux Tigers!

It runs much deeper than this. Outside of the Saban hire, we've been "settling" for years. And we wouldn't have had Saban had he not told Sexton to initiate contact.

I'm all for CEO and hope he does well. But at some point you have to look at the fact that we did not hire an elite coach, did not get an elite OC, lost recruits, and have not even bought a new tiger. It makes you wonder what exactly is the administration doing. For one thing there are too many people making decisions for LSU who are not LSU graduates.

I've traveled the world and am therefore very familiar with Mumbai Indian customs and their love for cricket, you frickin' idiot. And that goes just as well for the large Indian populations in Trinidad and Guyana, you fricking idiot.

I said he's of Indian ancestry, and there's no way he grew up as an American football fan, prick. You're the one who's an ignorant fool.
