LSU Alumni- is it any easier after a loss for you?

Me being a student at LSU and a family loaded with LSU alums, I can say for the most part the general concensus after last nights game is disappointment and confusion, but at the end of the day it's a game and LSU is bigger than one game or even a sport all together. Imo I'm as die hard a LSU fan as there is but I still have class on Monday regardless of win or lose, and I still love LSU. Still disappointed we got whooped Saturday but it's still my alma mater at the end of the day. What about y'all?

I would rather lose like last night than have nightmares like 2012 and 2014.

Same here.

Perspective, that game does zero, and I mean, zero to tarnish what LSU is about. Disappointed, sure, but it's just a football game.

LSU fans annoy me a lot more than LSU players and coaches so I was fine.
shite happens and none of this is a reflection on me.

Priorities change as you get older. When I was younger, I would let a loss ruin a weekend. Now, I don't give two shits. I have a wife and two kids. That's what makes me happy. The losses do suck though.

I would have to agree with this.

I looked out of my window this morning. The sun still came up. It does win or lose.
It is a game not a life altering event.

So you'd rather get dominated and lose than play hard toe to toe and lose?
Dumbass.
Dumbass.

The LSU alumni I know seem even keeled
I went to ULM, I lose my mind until midnight of game day.
Of course, ULM loses don't bother me!

Man, you a posi-tiger. Go to your class on Monday, but let us win all of the rest of the football games!

I was a student in the early '90s. We sucked. Our biggest concerns were losing by 40 instead of by 50. I have perspective. It's fricking college football. I'll bitch for a minute, but I ain't losing sleep. Life's too short.

As a sidewalk fan, I'm also not going to fret over it. I've become accustomed to losing to Alabama I guess. Also, I just don't let sports frick with my personal life.

I would rather play our asses off and lose a game at the end than get just dominated. That was awful. Brutal and complete arse whipping.

I guess you could call me a posi-tiger but I see no reason in being down in the dumps over a game we have no control in. It's great when we do well and I'll hope til the very end that we can make something of this season, but if we don't I'll be just fine.

Graduated 2013. I don't think any loss can disappoint me as much as 1/9.
Now I really just feel bad for the players and the team. I know they want to do well. Glad they represent my university though.
Bring on the Hogs!

When I was a student I would get pissed. A loss would ruin the entire following week. I'm glad the players didn't do that, otherwise we wouldn't have rebounded on the field.
I am not married and do not have kids, but now that I am 6 years removed from being a student, it's not as bad. I suppose perspective has changed. I still get amped and nervous at times, but I also realize the guys on the field are 18-22 year old students, and I don't think Les is trying to tank the program.
People are working hard to achieve a goal, and the season can still be damn good.
What more can I want? I still have to do my job during the week and don't want a loss to ruin my time off on Saturdays and Sundays.

Once you get to your early thirties/'mid forties, the game outcome impact on your life diminishes greatly. That's about the time "real life" starts to displace fandom.
