To favor an SEC team on the road by 6.5 points does that surprise anyone? State isn't exactly the cellar, either Miss State is getting very little respect or LSU is getting a ton?

Moo St has kept these games surprisingly close with LSU over the last several years that's why I was surprised by the point spread

LSU would probably be a 10 point favorite at home if I had to guess. Giving us less than a touchdown on the road is about right.

bro, you are not even talking about a touchdown difference. as little as we know about either of these teams, I would say it is even money.

It would be close to 10 on a neutral field, over 10 at LSU.

And to the op, this game was actually double digits in the early release this Summer so they've already adjusted based on what State has looked like.

Apparently the betting world doesn't find anything wrong with it since the line quickly moved from -6.5 to -7

Since 1985 LSU is 28-4 against Moo State.

Seven of the 28 LSU wins were within one score (the one LSU OT win in 2000 included) but 28-4 is the end result.

Les Miles ain't walking through that door. Most games were closer than they need to be because of his conservative bullshite after LSU was up.

I'd think about 13 pt at home. Neutral field = 10 or so.

Lmao. Even money? Good god.

Btw, Lsu is a 3-1 favorite. That's hardly even money. On top of that, they are now -7.5 on my site (sbgglobal). Money going on tigers.

Last year a couple of late fumbles by Fournette escorted State back into the game. LSU led 23-6 with about 4 minutes to go. Shouldn't have been even close.

And...it wasn't Fitzgerald responsible for the late State surge. It was the backup, I believe his name was Donnie Williams, responsible for the comeback.

It would be 10 on a neutral field and 13.5/14 at LSU. I'd say it's just about right
