Ok .. but same problems exist but different season. Pitching development.. and now let’s go ahead and add can’t hit a curveball and a slider. Maybe Paul should bring in Jobu, cigars and rum into the locker room.

Good thing we have the people chiming in that were satisfied with last year’s 37-22 experience.

I wasn’t but that team lacked depth. This team doesn’t lack depth.

If they could smash curves and sliders on the reg, they wouldn't be playing BELOW A-level minor league ball, I think.

We went on the road and got smacked in the mouth. It’s baseball, it happens. It’s early in the season, our pitchers have to improve, our bats need to get hot again, and the coaching staff needs to make some adjustments. We may not be the #1 team in the country at the moment, but this is definetly a team that can make it to Omaha.

The Paul Mainieri apologists are strong in this thread. Didn’t realize we have this many LSU fans that are satisfied with the possibility of getting swept and playing sub-par baseball. This isn’t LSU’s standard and y’all know it.

What’s the excuse this year?

I have a lot confi-dense in my Tigahs. Still a lot of baseball to be played.

Time for TigerNation to rally around our boys.

We didn't look good these past two games. Might look like shite tomorrow too.

Every single baseball team there is has the chance at getting swept in a series.

There is a lot of baseball to play. But I am concerned that LSU batters can’t hit curve balls and sliders . And the walks .. sheesh. I agree it’s early but it’s also early for Texas .. texas just looks like a much better team than LSU.

They did play ULL and Rice already.
No reason why LSU should play Bryant for three games

How was LSU ranked 1 to start this season? Makes no sense after last year.

The recruiting class that CPM brought in played a substantial role in LSU being ranked #1 before the start of the season.

ULL stinks right now, and Bryant is a good baseball team. People keep crapping on that series because they haven't heard of Bryant. Bryant hasn't been division 1 for long at all, and have already made multiple regionals. They came to the box as the 3 seed in 2014.

There's a good chance they win their conference again, this year. Are they a powerhouse? No. But that was a solid opponent that LSU swept.

Right now, they just aren't concentrating. Texas is barely hitting anything. LSU just keeps giving them baserunners. It's a contagious thing right now, and as frustrated as I am (I was very irritated with the walks today), and as we all are, we're going to have to ride this out for a little while until they get their minds right.

The hitters are swinging at everything, and seem like they've never seen a breaking ball before. They just have to settle down and quit over thinking things. I don't believe for a second that LSU is as bad as they've looked in this series. They need to come out tomorrow and punish that pitching staff, and our staff just needs to throw it over the plate for 9 innings. That would go a long way toward healing the wounds that have been created this weekend. Just get over that hump.

You will lose games if you play quality competition.
ULL finally has a break with Maryland
They started out with a bunch of Texas and Louisiana schools.

Bryant????
You think Bryant would beat any of the Top 3 schools in Louisiana or Top 6 schools in Texas in a 3 game series.

I’m not happy about it, but what good comes from dumping on the team?

I don't understand what logic you're trying to use. LSU has been playing Louisiana schools, too. And won. The Cajuns haven't been winning against anyone.

Do I think Bryant could beat other Louisiana schools outside of LSU? Yes. Outside of LSU there are only a couple of decent teams in this state. But you don't know anything about Bryant, and so you assume they suck, and won't listen to anything I have to say about them. I get it. This was exactly my point. People poo poo things that they don't bother to learn about.
