It's the product... We never open up the playbook so it's always a snooze fest!

We get 12 games of HB dives, HB toss, Punt. Why watch that shite in April?

I'd like to hear why you think spring game attendance is important.

"Night game."

I don't think anything needs to be done at all. It's a practice for goodness sake. But if you wanted to devote all the resources in terms of police, parking, etc. that you do to a home game: night game with full promotion - maybe even a concert - make it an event. But why?

I attended the spring game and experienced first hand why many fans don't come out to watch.

I really wouldn't call it a "game". Miles puts who he wants on the field and sets up situations he wants to see. Our spring "game" isn't set up for the fans to come out and enjoy, it is constructed exactly how the coaches want it. The first half ended 5 mins early and the second half lasted maybe 35 mins. Filling a 102,321 capacity stadium for 2 hours max doesn't seem to make much sense. It would be great if everyone came out and watched the but it doesn't seem to be as big as a priority to coaches.

pretty sure they had a concert and a bunch of other stuff before the spring game. I bet if it wasnt on TV attendance would go up.

Honestly IMO, it's just a sign of the program being stale. No one really gives a crap about anything said or done prior to ACTUAL games being played in the fall. Mediocre/to slightly above average seasons the last 3 years or so will do that to a program/fanbase. Results on the field next year are all that matters.

As no one should considering that is when things matter. Why is this a bad thing? We are blessed in Louisiana in the spring. The weather is nice for the most part not unbearably hot yet and we have a baseball team playing real games that is one of the top programs in the country. I for one am glad that I have things to keep my mind off of the fact we still have 5 more months until anything happens for real in football.

I love how people are blaming the coach, I dont remeber 90k people showing up when saban was the coach either. Now i do remember a lil more people showing up in years past when it wasnt on TV.

The goal is to allow coaches to evaluate players on the last practice of the spring. It's not to entertain spectators.

Having said that, I'm sure if LSU had won 4 national championships over the last 7 seasons, there would be higher attendance at the last spring practice.

Change the head coach. It's stale. You know it. The sunshine pumpers know it. The negatigers howl it. The realists even know it.

It happens everywhere. It's happened here and it didn't just start.

Downvotes galore are headed my way. I get it and that's okay. But trust me...You want renewed fan interest, you change the head coach. Dude has zero fricks given towards longtime booster groups that were supporting the program when we weren't winning sh!t and could only dream of where we are now.

Again, downvote away. Change the head coach. Interest will stop ebbing and begin to flow.

Fire the head coach! There weren't enough people in the stands to watch practice! This is unacceptable!

Boosters don't run the program. Deal with it.

I usually down vote you, but GFunk had to be "that guy" that blames every problem on Coach Miles. What a douche.
And then BigEd replies he's usually a sunshine pumper.

Have an upvote sir.

What would "doing it right" entail? A "real" game with the starters playing significant snaps? I for one would have been more than happy if guys like Fournette, Dupree, Guice, Beckwith, etc. didn't play a snap in the spring game. Why risk significant injury to one of your key players who you already know can perform in the fall. Further evaluation in the spring game isn't necessary.

As others have said, it's a glorified practice. It was as boring 25 years as it was on Saturday. Yes, you probably would get a slightly higher attendance if the game wasn't on TV, but what does it really matter? Admission is free, so it's not like you're bringing in significant revenue

Yeah I know it's for the coaches to evaluate players and they can't be too revealing because we'll never go 8-4 if our secret playbook gets out. Look I'm being purposefully obtuse but seriously, if spring games are only for coaches evaluations, why make it public at all?

If you're going to open it to the public, why rub it in the publics face that you literally don't care what they think?
