LSU (3-1) vs NC State (2-2) - Tuesday 4:30pm - ESPNU

After a tough 81-80 loss LSU faces the NC State Wolfpack in the 3rd place game of the Legends Classic.
So ready for some revenge.
Last season's NCAA Tournament meltdown still stings, so this year we should really wanna kick some arse.
I haven't gotten to watch NC State any this year, but they still have Barber who killed us with 17 points, Abu (scored 13), and Freeman. They lost Lacey and Turner.
NC State so far
NC State 68, William & Mary 85 (OUCH)
NC State 88, S Alabama 70
NC State 79, IUPUI 56
NC State 76, Arizona St 79
They don't shoot particularly well, but haven't turned the ball over much and get to the FT line. LSU has to make sure they don't get into any unnecessary foul trouble.
Unfortunately LSU missed shots last night. We went into the game hitting 38% of our three's and only hit 29% last night. Either have to hit those or get to the basket more.
I think we get there.

Marquette was just a bad bad matchup for us inside. Called it in the pre-game thread their 2 bigs would be a nightmare for us to defend, especially with ER III not even being 100%. Victor is someone we need desperately for this team to make a run to help handle bigs from other teams.
As we found out last night, Simmons cant do everything himself. If nobody else can defend, rebound or hit 3's, Simmons cant win it by himself. He should have had a triple double last night if those 3's fall.

Marquette hit every shot. They played way better than their record and gray needs to be taking some of Patterson minutes.

I know Victor is 6'9" but is he considered a good rebounder? I ask b/c it seems like we have tall guys (ER III and Malone) who do not rebound well for their size.

Everyone was saying just how bad Marquette was but I didn't think they were THAT bad. I could see them having a fairly decent year, probably won't kill our RPI like some think.

Ive watched every second of both teams.
Gottfried is such a better coach than JJ but State is still figuring out its identity for who scores. Both team just lost to meh teams, so when two meh teams play each other, all bets are off.

I am so happy Arizona St won so we get another shot at NCSU. Been waiting on this one.

Yeah, we can't afford Blakeney to be that cold shooting when we're out two starters.
The loss sucks given everything surrounding LSU on top of Marquette being meh (other than their post), but it was one of those games where it was the perfect storm of everything going wrong, yet still almost won
