So because Marquette lost two of their first three it was because they were young. Now when we lose our first game its because we are young. I see, thanks for explaining, when you lose its because you are young. I was confused, I just assumed when both teams have the relative same amount of experience, it comes down to who plays better.

if you think Marquette has fast guards, this will be a long season.

This is a pretty poor argument. Its not like the dropoff in talent is that great in college basketball athleticism, especially for guards. You can find athletic guards anywhere in the country.

Why did Simmons feel the need to pass the ball twice in the last possession because he saw no opening in the lane to take.

Yea, they clogged the shite out of the interior of the lane so that he wouldnt be able to drive to the basket. Wtf are you missing here. We didnt play good interior D like they did. And LSU wasnt able to shoot >30% from 3 to change that.

Is it only hard for our guys to play perimeter defense?

No, if you watch some of these games depending on the refs, it can be nearly impossible for any team.

Clogging the lane. What a novel concept. Maybe if our guards can't stop the ball, we could try that. I mean especially since its impossible to stop the other team from driving at will into the lane. Or maybe it would be better to allow layup after layup. That way a team that has largely been terrible so far can shoot nearly 60% from the field and beat a team it has no business beating.

I didnt even mention how much more they fricked the defense by pushing the circle out another foot. Quick guard play is going to be huge this season if they are strict on their calls

I'm no fan of Jones' coaching abilities, but he wasn't out-coached in that game last March. LSU lost by 1 point at the buzzer because they missed countless shots at the glass and FTs in the final 8:00. Jones can't make the layups and FTs for them. Hell, if LSU makes just 2 FTs or one easy bucket at any point down the stretch they win the game. There are losses you can pin on Jones. That wasn't one of them.

But missing free throws shows a lack of character and JJ should have instilled character in the players Kappa

How would beating a team with a losing record make you good?

So, beating Marquette still would have made us bad.
