Where did you hear he is out for a while? I only heard he was out this week. They will probably just hold him out until SEC play.

He was wearing a walking boot and using crutches yesterday, so unless he has a miraculous recovery today or tomorrow, he won't play.
ETA: The radar is looking slightly more encouraging now. The orange and yellow have almost disappeared in the showers around Baton Rouge and the green is almost gone south of Baton Rouge from about Gramercy on south to the Gulf.
A strong line of storms is just arriving in the Lake Chuck area moving slowly eastward.

I know he won't play this week. Probably the walking boot and crutches are precautionary things more than anything. He will be playing first base on the first friday in SEC play.

Which is weird because he's always been relaxed as can be when I'm around him. Super nice guy that goes out of his way to shake my hand if I'm in the same vicinity. Maybe he just fits in better at the high school level.

Maybe he just got humbled at Tech...
a .444 winning percentage and zero trips to the post season in 12 years will do that to a guy.
I remember reading where they hosted a conference tourney one year and didn't even make the field.

How have we "neglected playing in-state schools? We annually play Nicholls, SLU, Southern, ULM, ULLL, the weenies. The La. Tech series has been correctly explained. The clown from ULLLL/La Tech actually gave Texas a full scouting report on LSU after playing us earlier in the season; at a time when there was a gentleman's agreement, according to Skip, not share such info about each other with an out of state school.

To be fair, in my OP I said "neglected playing AN in-state school." I understood that we played the others. Now I understand why it has been so long since we have played Tech.

However, this is the first I have heard of this situation. I'm pretty sure this is still an unwritten rule of the game. Scouting reports should never be given to other schools, in-state or out.

I know the nature of this board is to genuinely complain about everything, but i believe he was just asking an honest question. Maybe he shouldn't have said neglected but he was definitely talking about LSU vs. La Tech and not complaining about LSU not playing in state schools.
