Murky Waters (BBQ)
Greatfull Soul
Walk-Ons

Midtowner(full breakfast)

ETA thx to Callieb & PurrWarren:

Shipleys doughnuts
TBones(cafe and record shop)
Patio 44
The Porter
Stricks (bbq)
Sullys(2 locations)

* Most of these locations do have a bar setting

Bars:
The Hog(The Mahogany Bar-more adult/mature crowd. Large draft selection ant top shelf liquor/ bartending)
4th St Bar
Last Call Bar
Brewskis(if your looking for a fight)

Hotels:
From what I understand, there is a big youth baseball tournament up here this weekend and most of the hotels are already full in Hattiesburg. Columbia isn’t that far of a drive although I don’t know the hotel situation there either. Laurel is closer (30 minutes) but the coast would probably be your best bet. It’s only about an hour drive and there’s a good bit to do down there anyway and there will be plenty of hotels.

Ask any questions you have here and I’ll try to answer. I’m on vacation in Boston until Thursday (bout to head to Fenway ) when we come home. I made sure I would be back in time just in case we got paired in Hattiesburg to watch the Tigers whip that arse at Pete Taylor.

Any other Hattiesburg residents feel free to add and I’ll update OP

PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD LETS TAKE THIS PLACE OVER!

Get your knuckles ready and head to the corner of 4th and Juniper. It about half a mile from the baseball field.

Appreciate the info. This will be my first regional outside BR. Pretty excited. Looking into hotels now. Any hidden jem hotels? Or good airbnb locations?

If you are looking for an Airbnb try to look in the historical district. It’s closer to downtown and it’s a really nice area. I’m really not sure of the Airbnb situation though

Also a long time Hburg resident. long time lurker here, but set up account today to see if I could help anyone out.

I would also add Midtowner (Bfast and lunch), Shipley's doughnuts, T Bones, Patio 44, Porter and Stricks to the Food List. (I think South mouth Deli is closed)

For anyone coming with children we have a great small zoo and adjacent playground. The pocket museum downtown is also a fun stop and close to downtown restaurants.

The Lucky Rabbit is open downtown on Saturday and Sunday and is a fun vintage/nostalgia store. I believe their outdoor market is also this weekend.

Hattiesburg may be a small city, but still has lots to offer.

Did the city get a discount on traffic lights by buying in bulk?

Yep Letha’s is still open. Although I think they either opened a second location or just moved.
