LSU Ticket office is selling tickets for tomorrow's game for $5 in what they are calling "Fan Appreciation Day."
How about they pay the fans who show up $5 for having to sit through the pain of Johnny Jones coaching.

I saw that email too this morning and laughed. They could offer $5 to the fans to come watch and they still couldn't fill up the PMAC to watch the mess Jones puts out there.

Lol, at $5, I guess it's been "Fan Appreciation Day" for a while on StubHub.
ETA: I also bet we spend more on promotional junk to entice people to go than we would on a top flight coaching staff

You get a decent coach and the PMAC will be rocking with overflow standing room only.
PMAC had some good crowds last season, but you have a consistant good team and the fans will come in droves.

Exactly. They know they haven't put together a good enough product to get your $22, but they still think they can get your $5.
Imagine how awesome the LSU AD could be if they had competent businessmen running the show.

Its not just about coaching. While it is important a coach with the personality of a fricking potato will flop if he can't get the fan base excited, no matter how good he is at X's and O's. Basketball while not number one at LSU will get tremendous support if its exiting and has a good team. LSU's needs a modern day Dale Brown, someone who travel the state and promote the program. Get out, shake hands and be a politician. Coaching is the easy part. While JJ can't coach their are coaches everywhere that can. Basketball is a simple game. You hustle and play hard on defense and make free throws your going to win half of your games right there even with sub par talent IMO. Just because a tons of teams don't give a shite about that part of the game. No reason they should ever win less than 18 games a year even in the worst years.
