I'm not sure where LSU will end up being ranked in the final AP, BCS, USA Today rankings, etc. but I know one thing.

This is "my" list of ranked teams that I feel we would beat in head to head competition. If you look at their schedules it's a joke. These are only teams that have already played in their bowl games.

Almost all of these teams lost their bowl games with the exception of Vanderbilt and Va Tech, but I think we'd beat both of them as well right now.

# 24 Boston College (lost to Vandy and Va Tech)
# 23 Northwestern
# 20 Pitt
# 18 Michigan State (lost to UGA)
# 16 BYU (overrated all year)
# 16 Vanderbilt (it's a win)
# 14 Ga Tech (we dominated them)
#13 Oklahoma State (no defense like the rest of the Big 12)
#12 Cinncinnatti (what?.. how did they get this highly ranked?)
#11 TCU (sure they beat Boise St. but who cares besides ESPN)
# 9 Boise State (see above, we'd run over them all day)

Va Tech also. I'm not sure where they're ranked, but we'd beat them and their fast QB just like we beat Appy State.

Did I miss anybody, and do you all agree? I really don't care if you disagree, because I think this is a solid list.

Sooooooooooo. Where will we end up being ranked at the end of the year? If we destroyed #14 shouldn't we be in the Top 15 at least? I think so.

It's amazing how fast the sentiment can change around this place.

we'll finished unranked, prob 28th range

and that was a 40's offense that if stopped early is ez to defend

with a month to prepare id say with Miles track record that we we would have a winniing record vs the top 25...

My sentiment hasn't changed all year as badly as some. I always see the glass half full. It may be a problem, but I'd much rather have that one than always being negative and complaining.

The future is bright for LSU, and just think, we could have Auburn problems, but we don't. It's a good day to be a Tiger!

What makes you think we could cover WRs now?

Be thankful we played a team that don't like the forward pass.

No kidding.

I'm still not sure how hot LSU would have looked against a team that:

a) was familiar with the forward pass, or
b) substituted personnel on every play (going to heavy packages, or 5 wide, etc.) forcing our D to shuttle players on and off the field.

I'm really happy we won; it retrospect this was probably about as good a matchup as LSU could have drawn in a bowl game and I'm looking forward to next year with a new DC and some better QB play.

G Tech, was pretty much a one-dimensional team.
and we had three weeks to prepare.

We played a great game, we are not as good as the game showed.

...maybe by next fall..

You are all missing my point!

I didn't say we have miraculously become the #5 team in the nation because of one win, but the so called "experts", ESPN, AP, USA Today coaches polls etc. had Ga. Tech ranked #14.

We beat the living hell out of the #14 team, and the bowl games thus far have proven that many of these teams ranked ahead of us were/are imposters.

Take a look at any of the teams on my list, and you tell me what our record would be (team as is) with those schedules?

I know this board is not for logic, but if you disagree with me tell me who on my list we'd lose to? Then I can disagree with you. Fair enough?

I think lsu will finish ranked in the top 25. People have to see the qb position is pretty much righting itself. Heck jj is averaging 34 pts per game for the games he has started.

Ehh, There are not that many teams that are gonna drop out. BC and Northwestern will and maybe 2 others. LSU wasn't getting votes before and surely FSU and a couple other jump in.

What is interesting will be Ga Tech. They won't fall out and you could argue LSU's dominance should put them above or near Ga Tech, but they still have a better record than LSU and still beat Georgia

I have a feeling we jump a lot of teams with that win. I think we somehow some way get into the top 25. As far as what ranked teams we WOULD beat? Lets not go overboard. I think we played very well in the bowl game and possibly COULD beat those teams but I wouldn't say that we would beat them. The offense Tech runs is something we were set up to deal with IMO. That doesn't mean we could stop some pass happy offense.

and don't forget the fact that we only lost to Alabama in OT with a RS QB, crappy co-DC's, against their senior QB. I feel that that one loss broke our spirit and greatly contributed to the losses that followed.

It's a good thing we didn't play in the Cotton Bowl. Texas Tech would have lit us up and everybody would be screaming how the sky is falling. We are what we were before the game a highly talented underachieving team that was not coached worth a damn this year. I think Les will get it fixed and the future looks bright again.

A team that can't beat Arkansas has no argument based on schedule.

You mean if we had to play now? I don't know to be honest. I do know that beating the hell out of Tech who was running the triple option, doesn't mean we would beat either of those teams. I don't know where we would stand to be honest. I think the new coaching staff will have us greatly improved for next year and I am excited to see how it will unfold already.
