LF7 has 2/3 of LSU major rushing records....single season and single game....but Faulk is LSU all-time rushing leader with 4,557 yards over 4 years.

LF7 currently has 3,790 in 3 years. He needs 767 to pass Faulk. With FLorida, A&M, and presumably a bowl....he needs to average 256 yards in each game.

A damn shame that he is not going to hold this record. He really is the best back LSU has ever had and I would've loved to see him own all 3 major rushing records.

Not counting injuries, weather cost him two games....had he had these back, he would only need to average around 156 in these 5 games. A much more attainable goal.

Damn shame.

He would've put 250 in that game last year the way he was playing for sure.

When looking at stats, this is basically indisputable. He also accomplished most of this without any semblance of a passing game to help him.

nope,,,,i think LF is more concerned about making it out of this year without a serious knee injury than anything.

What's crazy is Guice would have no doubt broken the single game record if O would have put him back in on the last drive (which he was right not to).

Maybe Guice will break it. Any way you slice it props to Faulk for setting such a high standard.

Incredible. I think we can all agree Fournette will go down as the all-time best running back at LSU.

If he had McNeese and South Alabama along with not being injured he'd be pretty close to breaking it now. It's not far off to say he would've been close to 200yds in all of those games and it's going to end up being a total of 5 games missed.

I was hoping he did. I am glad Brossette got some carries, but he could have let Guice get that record after running so hard. Especially after only getting what like two carries versus bama.

The ankle and the two "lost" games probably ended that quest.

Its pretty insane that without the ankle injury and the 2 missed games, LF would have probably broken the record in 2.5 years

Coming into the season I thought he was a lock to break the record

Game was over. Would have been dumb to risk an injury to Guice. I honestly think Guice makes a run at the heisman next year.

if it's critical to winning these 3 games, get that record Buga. if we can win without it, that's ok too.

It sucks but Faulk played 4 years and Leonard played less than 3 full years.

It happens.

I'm just hoping he hits that 4,000 yard mark. That's a huge accomplshment in only three seasons, especially when you consider two games were cancelled and he dealt with injuries as well. It's a damn shame he didn't get to reach 2,000 yards last season. That would have been historic.

But a 4,000 yard/40 touchdown career is nothing to sneeze at. He fully lived up to his considerable hype and will be remembered as one of the greatest to play at LSU for a long time.
