it's not a falsehood though. Watch all his carries. He runs like he's 6'1, he got taken down very easily, especially in the first few games

he's obviously improving in all aspects but you can't tell me he's trucking people like TM does

he runs with more aggression now...he seemed timid early.

I don't see how that can be judged when a back is hit in the backfield.

He had plenty of carries in the first 4 games where he was tackled by a db on first contact...against florida he trucked those dbs.

You're looking for confirmation of something that doesn't exist. He was trucking people for 4 years. This isn't a new concept for him.

probably so...but not his first 4 games in college. Like I said earlier he looked timid. Now he looks like a beast and is actually living up to the hype.

I bet the coaches would agree.

First...really doubt LF7 is a true 4.3 guy ?

He wants to see a hole before he commits, common to many RBs.
He needs to fully accelerate to the hole called and adjust on the fly
or to the first contact.
KOs are a risk, he is looking 1st for blocking development, then he
accelerates similar to offensive plays.

He is growing, but I thought LSU's run game would be better by this
time in the season ?

I don't know but I cringe on every kickoff with him as the return man.
1. He doesn't look to have the speed needed on returns.
2. Way too valuable of an asset to to risk injury.

show me where you are more likely to get hurt on a kickoff as a returner than you are as a ball carrier on offense.

stats.......show me stats

let me save you some time. you cant. cut the bullshite nonsense about injuries. its football. Should we not let him practice too?

This comes up every year because LSU, and many other schools, use star players as return men. It's hilariously predictable.

I remember people on the Rant swearing up and down that Keiland ran a 4.3, and he ran a 4.6 or something like that at the Combine.

The only legit 4.3 guys we've had lately were Trindon and Xavier Carter. Buster Davis ran a really good time at the combine as did Laron.

Throw in PP7 and that's it. Only three in recent history.

I don't think people understand how insanely fast 4.3 laser timed actually is (mainly b/c half the high school skill players in the country have inflated, hand clocked times that never hold up 3-4 year later at the combine).

Peterson is the only one close to being as big as Fournette who has run one that fast. This isn't normal, run of the mill stuff when guys that size run legit sub 4.4s

Wow. Can't believe I forgot about Peterson. I hope he doesn't find out, hunt me down and whoop my arse.

If he does, you better reason with him because you're not outrunning him

If your watching him you'll notice he's slimming down already. Look closer to the 200 level, that's why his speed my be developing back some.

I watched him about 3 or 4 times in HS, I saw mutch of what I see now. I never saw that elusiveness or shiftiness that most think he must have. I was like "what's so special?". What I did notice is he did get stopped alot, but then would follow that up with some sorta play where he's come out of a pile still running and would take it the distance. You just don't see him doing that anymore. When he goes into the pile, he usually goes down. I personally think some of that's a product of the competition. He's not going up againt 130lb HS safeties that are bandgeeks on the side

LF--Will his 4.3 speed translate into a "first burst"? Several times I thought he would be gone on an outside run but just barely got tripped up and fell forward for about 5 yards. I kept wanting to see him out run that end and it seemed for the most part he didn't quite get there.

This is what gets me. It seems like he is always close to breaking a long one, but whenever there is that one guy he has to beat to break free, the other guy always seems to get the better of him.
