Story in advocate today with this headline. SMH at this. Didn't think he was a shot to go pro but the way the article is written it sounds as if he had made up his mind. Also quoted lacouture as saying his draft grade was "good". Would hate to lose those guys. Anybody have any info on these players?

I know I'm preaching to the choir but man I hate losing our best juniors to the draft every year. Neal and lacouture would be great leaders for our D next year.

Also if we lose beckwith and white on top of that what is our realistic expectation of the defense next year?

Expect us to give up at least 20 points each game.

Guys like this are the biggest WTFs and the reason why LSU will continue to struggle to field a veteran defense in the SEC. Meanwhile, Bama has 8 seniors and 6 juniors in their 2 deep. That's crazy.

Reaping the benefits of NFLU.

Great for the players, not so great for the school long term.

Why not stay for a year of development with Coach O? Isn't he an excellent developer?

It's hilarious how these guys can have one decent year of college ball and decide it's time to roll out. I don't think he recorded a single stat prior to this season. He wasn't hurt last year when we were thin at the position yet he didn't see the field. Just dumb.

Les needs to do a better job of recruiting his own players to stay. This is his biggest fault besides not knowing shite about offense

A lot of these guys do this to generate buzz for their senior campaigns. A senior who witheld his name from the draft after serious consideration sounds better than a senior that wasn't even in the conversation to leave.

Please tell me you're being sarcastic. UA has the REC giving players plenty of reason$ (see Fluker) to stay for their last year at Bama. It has nothing to do with winning a trophy.

People don't really think these kids are staying at Bama for Sabans glowing personality, do they?

This is just crazy, somebody is telling these guys some bad information, or they just want out of the situation and know things wont get better. Don't know what the problem is but I has to get fixed.

Ding ding ding we have a winner!!!!
Anytime an LSU player mentions the draft like this scouts start talking. Who is this guy? What are his numbers? Etc. they look at him and draft grade him. This tells the player where he is and where he needs to be for next year. Most importantly, it gets scouts talking about you as a player.

Les Miles and the other coaches embrace the NFLU moniker and recruits players with the notion that LSU is the best and quickest way to the NFL. Couple this with the fact this team isn't competing for championships, and you have your answer.

How can you recruit players telling them NFLU, then try to recruit them to stay when they want to leave and pursue their dreams?

IMO this is the biggest problem with LSU football. The kids bail early for the NFL and it's tougher to compete with Seniors on lesser teams.
