The world is sadly deficient of "almost bat shite", in my humble opinion.

I hope you were joking about sending this hoodlum a card. He exhausted all of his chances (prob 7 or 8) and you feel sorry for him????

Wonder if any LSU fan would say the same about Coach Saban.

Try to find Lucas via social media. Try his basketball camp emails.

I was the biggest badger fan on the planet. He shouldn't be sent anything, he embarrassed himself and infinitely more importantly the team. He didnt handle his personal conduct and he entire Lsu brand suffers for it. I despise the badger and hope he is put in prison soon.

I hope while you're in there with him you become some big bubba's beotch.

Tyrann -hope you are reading at least this response and thank you for everything you have done for LSU. What a sensation you have been and as humans, we all have weaknesses.

No one likes to admit their faults but those on the front page have no choice. I am personally proud of your decision and your family's support to fix the problem and promise...success will follow. Your decision speaks volumes for you and for LSU for simply one reason....you're doing the right thing and to hell with all these uncompassionate personal critics that disagree.

Attack your weakness like you did for the football team and you will be a Heinsman trophy winner for sure, in whatever you decide.

Thanks for the great memorable LSU years you allowed us to enjoy.

No joke. He is a kid in college. He needs help. A card for support could help. I would like to be heard from.

I don't feel sorry for him. He made some bad choices. I believe in forgiveness. Everyone deserves another chance when he realizes he needs help and checked into a rehab.

I pray for Tyrann and wish him the best from an LSU supporter.

Letters or cards to Tyrann Mathieu?

Does anyone have an address to where TM is? And can we send him letters or cards?

ohdeargod...

Are you really an administrator for TD? How old are you? I was serious when I posted this and still am. TM was a part of the LSU football team. He did things he will later regret in life and this situation will never change for him. But, he checked into rehab. I don't really think he is a thug. I don't even know him, but I respect Miles's decision when Miles recruited him. Must have been something there.

Why should we just throw him by the wayside and crucify him? He could recover and hopefully come back to LSU and play again, maybe not. But he is still a kid in college that needs someones support.

And Scoop, I have plenty of friends.

Tyrann's problems are no discipline and a complete lack of self control.

Agree 100% that that's the root cause. The fans' attention doesn't spoil everyone. And in an essay length format I'd have made that clear. The point I was making is that this particular individual needs a break from the attention, and it's because of the exact reasons you state above.

And from Guava...

quote:

I'm not Scoop, but I think the "democrat" comment was to the fact that Penrod was projecting the accountability of TMs actions onto LSU's "sycophantic" fan base, rather than holding TM himself accountable, as is often the case with democratic socio-political philosophy. Honestly I think both missed their mark, but what do I know, I'm just a jar of tasty fruit spread.

That's the way I interpreted Scoop, also. I happen to fall between a libertarian and a conservative, but I can see where my original post left doubt.

Great, then send him a card!

But excuse me if I think a grown man sending a college football player a card is a little stupid.

Never once suggested that. As a matter of fact, I hope that he's able to get his shite together and rejoin the team next year. But, I'm not sending him any cards like a giddy school girl to wish him well. He's a man, let him handle his problems as such.

No, he's an adult. And, quite honestly, that's how he needs to start acting.

After multiple people have posted that you would be violating his privacy, you still cling to the notion that you should send the HB a card. Are you dumb?

Bobby, its a nice thought but like someone stated earlier the rehab will probably prevent him from getting "fan mail"...that's just the way it works at places like that. Just pray for him

Just pray for him

Anyone with compassion who believes in a higher power, regardless of their denomination would wish him well on his personal journey, and pray for his success. It's hard to believe the many callous and immature remarks regarding this as millions here in the US including family members or friends of those writing, may be addicted to alcohol, tobacco, drugs or other vises.

We pray that the Lord will give Tyrann the strength to overcome his illness and allow him to succeed. And thank you Tyrann for all the good times you have bestowed on the LSU nation in past seasons.
