This season we were the last automatic qualifier to take a bye week. It was wearing on the team by the furman game.

Due to Allevas failed negotiating skills we will be playing on thursday every other year. Some of those years will be 1 bye week seasons.

What should the schedulers do going forward? Do we keep the bye before bama? Do we schedule an earlier bye? In one bye schedules at A&M do we wait till the second to last week of the season for a bye?

What say you?

I'd say you're ignoring the fact that the SEC determines when the conference games are scheduled.

about the only good thing about this schedule is we shouldn't have to worry about any home day games until late in the schedule....

I forgot the part where the SEC office determines when you schedule byes and OOC games.

I did remember though that Alleva got a big win by not playing at home on thanksgiving night

Yeah I'd much rather have our byes after Auburn and before Bama. Waiting way too damn long

Due to allevas brilliance though this would give only 4 days to prep for TAMU.

Id say take the bye before Aubs and move NMSU (or other non conferance) to before bama.

On one week bye schedules I have no idea though....

In an ideal world, I'd rather see the first bye before the Auburn game and the second before the Alabama game. Good spacing, key games.

4 days of TAMU prep enough though?

This is what we will face every other year.

Sorry I thought we were doing hypotheticals, not fixing this bye in place for all time.

Yeah I mean ideally yes TAMU would be saturday and we would have to waste one there. However Alleva bending over and taking it from the SEC office accommodating a new member after taking it for the bridge schedules and the bowls last year we are now painted into a corner.

Incorrect

Yes, the aTm game is on Thursday next year, but nothing is set beyond that. A lot will play out when the sec finally decides on an 8 or 9 game schedule

This makes you sound immature, imo.

Well your previous comment makes you sound uniformed about how scheduling byes works which was the point of this thread.

Every report about the LSU TAMU game being moved to thanksgiving was that our "line in the sand" was to not have to play on thanksgiving in Tiger Stadium.

This shows Joe has no forward thinking. It also shows how little power he has at the table considering this is TAMUs 2nd year and we are a charter member yet they are bullying us around to get their traditions.

Again, another messed up schedule. Nine games in a row?

Our administration is crap.

Agree totally with your take on that.
