Let's stop the meltdown

Hope this isn't too long (if so tell me and I'll shorten it. Only my third thread)
edit: shortened
The vast majority of what I've read today has been brutally negative towards our coaches and players. Let's try to go from pessimistic to optimistic. Doesn't mean you have to be a "sunshine pumper" but look for the positives, not the negatives.
Even though:
-- without (arguably) the nation's best player without whom we would have lost 2-3 last year
-- We lost our big (size wise) go-to WR to the draft and our only receiving TE to graduation
-- Our first true pocket QB in a one-QB system since Mauck is starting in his first year in a system built for a mobile QB
-- We're riddled with injuries to starting players and have several key players who are ineligible
-- And on top of all of that we have a new OC adjusting from last year just being our OL coach to now coaching the whole offense.. that's a huge jump and while he hasn't done as well as the fans would have liked, he hasn't done all that bad either, all things considered. JMO but whenever Mett gets more comfortable and they learn to use headsets, Kragthorpe needs to go back into the booth and let Stud be on the field.
With all of this going on LSU is still an elite program. We nearly (and could/should have) beat a (now) top 5 team that could win the SEC and possibly go to the BCSNCG. Throw in the fact that we only dropped to 8 and 9 in the polls, and now we see that a NC isn't out of our grasp. We definitely have the potential win out. And I know, easier said than done, but if our offense really gets rolling like I believe it can, we can do it.
With just the injuries that LSU has had, most teams would be lucky to have a winning record, much less be ranked, so we aren't that bad off.
Let's motivate the players on here and stop degrading them (we all know they read TD).

I would much rather read a logical criticism of a crappy game than "holy shite we lost a game to a good team now we're gonna lose out"

As bad as the offense played if OB doesn't fumble the ball we probably go ahead and the momentem switches back to us. Instead they go down and score and the rest is history. The constant bashing of Les is really pathetic. I can't believe the vast majority of LSU fans really want a coaching change. I do think Les needs to hire an offense coordinatior just like he hired Chavis when it was obvious we needed a new defensive coordinator. Just to sit around and wait for us to lose so you can spew venom at the team and coaching staff must make you a pretty sorry arse fan and a misarable person. Do the negatigers think we can just go out and hire a new head coach that can match Les's record and do they really want to take that chance?

I think it's time for some coaching changes. I would go with a real OC first, that don't work, fire Miles.

I have not seen a meltdown on here. Frustration but no meltdown.
And I'm completely surprised.

As bad as the offense played
:beatdeadhorse:
It wasn't how our offense played necessarily, it was more of a battle of offensive game planning. FLA was more willing to open up the playbook to some different looks while maintaining the same basic game plan, but LSU wasn't willing to open up our playbook enough IMO. Too much predictability in play calling. IMO our 2-min offense looked very good. Would've liked to see some more early screens and quick routes, but what's done is done.

if OB doesn't fumble
Yea that gave them the momentum and decent field position, but so did Mett's INT. My point is that we can't say we lost because of one play. What if we only got a field goal again? Or if we missed a field goal? One of those what if's that would've been nice the other way, but you can't say "this one play lost us the game" because we had plenty opportunities to get it done. OBJ's want to make a play, although I love to see it, hurt us in the long run IMO.

I agree 100% (was gonna put this but had to shorten it) Fear the Hat
Les is the only LSU coach to have >0.800 win percentage after at least 21 games

A lot of fans? Yes. Vast Majority? I don't buy it.

Les needs to hire an offense coordinatior
Miles is supposedly calling the plays for Stud this year . He let Krags call the plays last year but he's on the sideline working with Mett. Whenever Mett is a little more experienced/comfortable, look for Krags to go back into the booth to call plays seeing the whole field and Stud will likely come down and work with OL

Not sure if this is agreeing with me or you misunderstood and is aimed at me?

Only way this happens is if Bear Bryant rises from the grave and says God told him to coach the Tigers

I read two other threads last night on my phone and it was all pretty negative so I assumed there was one (especially after how bad the meltdown was after last week's win). Oops . I guess this can be applied to the next meltdown then

Amen brother. One intelligent level headed person on The Rant.

As long as we don't turn the ball over and commit penalties, I think we have a shot.
Miles is very good correcting things and getting a team pumped coming off of losses. I guess we'll see Saturday.
USCe did look very good though, I'll give you that

Perhaps our definitions of a meltdown differ.
Meltdown = post January 9
Meltdown = Joe McKnight signing with USC
Meltdown = Ole Miss clock game

if we can score more than 20 points, I think we can win the game. I just don't see us doing that.
