I believe this is a good job that could be a great job. You have tradition, talent close by, solid but not too hard of a conference, etc.

Spend the money!

Thank God for the money spent on Aranda and Canada.
Wish we had spent less on the HC....

Less than what? LSU is paying him about $2.5 million more than any other school was offering him.

Much rather that money be for football. Basketball is the #3 sport at LSU right now.

I would say more like #5 behind gymnastics and softball.

You are comparing apples to oranges. LSU football(big money maker is not comparable to LSU basketball and never will be. Remember when the Big 12 was about to implode, what conference would welcome the storied Kansas program. Remember when the ACC was about to implode, what conference wanted the vaunted Duke program. These two along with Kentucky, UCLA, North Carolina, and Indiana all make much more money from football than basketball.

The masses that don't seem to get this. They'd rather have saban at 10 mill per year and a couple grad asst's as OC and DC

Ha ha. Yeah because we all know Saban is nothing without those coordinators.

I can't believe you even posted that shite.

Saban and any competent coordinators is a better staff than ed orgeron and what we have. Good god

Sounds to me like you're the one comparing apples to oranges.

Football brings in more revenue than basketball - I believe Duke and Louisville are exceptions though.

Regardless, basketball is the 2nd highest NCAA revenue sport and shouldn't be ignored at LSU just because football makes more money.

Kellogg's doesn't stop selling Froot Loops just because Frosted Flakes makes more money.

Which is $2.5 million more than anybody would pay you.

But there was zero reason to offer Ed Orgeron 2.5 million when he had zero other options. What was he gonna do? Decline the offer and go back to being a position coach?
You dont pay 60,000$ for a Honda accord just because you buy it at a Mercedes dealership. Which is exactly what we did with Ed Orgeron.
I hope he has the most successful tenure in lsu history but there was zero reason to pay him 2.5 million and there was zero reason to give him a buyout.

Wait? Are you really saying you'd take Ed Orgeron,Canada and Aranda over Nick Saban and 2 competent coordinators?

Holy shite. The mental gymnastics needed to get to that level of delusion is astounding. Congrats sir

Your point? Oh, that's right... Nobody can criticize any LSU coach on a free message board.
