I would actually be ok with this. Saban and Kelly have both said more than once that Reece is brilliant and is going to be one of the greats. Ultimately this is Kelly's offense. He's not going to hand the reigns over to anyone he hires.
Reece made Milroe serviceable over the course of the season. That's just short of an act of God. I'll bet he could have a hell of a lot of fun with a slinger like Nuss.
He ain't my first choice, but I'd be ok with it.
