I understand the thinking but at the same time I think they would prefer cap one. Give them a sec bowl and not the same big 12 bowl they had been playing for all those years.
The Cotton Bowl now, in primetime and at Jerry's Place, isn't the same bowl it once was. I would guess more people now watch the Cotton Bowl than the Capital One.

Of course aTm is jizzing for a game against Texas
Agreed. It would be a huge recruiting tool for prospects in that area.
LSU plays Michigan in Outback Bowl.

I think we match up better with a big 10 team than Clemson or osu. Dream matchup would be Texas in the cotton matchup wise. Best exposure and we should matchup scheme wise. Not interested in playing a passing team or a qb run oriented team.

Clemson is a terrible match-up for LSU, given the current woes of our defense.

I think the best game to bring in the most $$ is the Chick Fil A Bowl against Clemsux.
Also, the Cotton Bowl would be a big one against Oklahomo.

I would like to know what inside information you have that leads you to believe that A&M has this one wrapped up.
Jerrah Jones is a promoter. He would promote the heck out of Johnny Heisman coming to his house!!

Bring back the purple pants (with stripes) for the bowl game.

Maybe too little, too late ...
"In 2006, Orange County and the City of Orlando committed $175 million for the first-ever renovation to the 70-year old facility. Only the two modern upper decks will remain from the current structure while every other facet of the stadium will be rebuilt from the ground up. Leaders from the City of Orlando and Orange County came together in 2012 to finalize a funding agreement for the stadium, giving the project a green light with an expected completion date of fall 2014."
At least the city is trying.

Bowl scenarios in order of descending suckiness (IMHO):
1. vs. Michigan in Cap One
2. vs. Michigan in Outback
3. vs. Texas in Cotton
4. vs. Ok St. in Cotton
5. vs. Northwestern in Outback
6. vs. Clemson in Chicken
7. vs. anyone else in Chicken

When Kent St. wins the MAC championship and finishes 16th in the BCS (they are currently 17th with UCLA at 16th), they will take an automatic at-large bid (thanks to Rutgers being unranked) which means the Big12 will only get one team. (at larges will be Florida, ND, Kent St., Oregon). This means K-State or OU will be left out.
Cap One looks like they want aTm now so expect LSU to the cotton against K-State or OU if Bama wins......if UGA wins, then we probably goto Chik-Fil-A to play Clemson.
The SEC bowl tie-ins don't care about rankings. They want match-ups. as long as LSU gets a match-up against a good opponent and wins, it doesn't matter if we play on 12/31 at night in primetime or 15 hours later on 1/1 when several other games are going on.
