Tweeting derogatory comments directly at individual kids (ala LSU barstool) is embarrassing. Sad look.

BUT ALSO. Players taking a couple tweets (primarily in reference to barstool “begging Harris to transfer to Tulane”) and then building an “us against the fans” narrative around it is utter BS.

The reality is 99.9% of our fans are looking at Bo Pelini (and perhaps a little suspicious side-eye on coach O for the lazy hire and defensive comments) after a historically bad start.

You would think someone had sent in death threats to players. We’re talking about a single tweet that, while in bad taste, certainly wouldn’t have made me lose any sleep.

What happened to block out the noise?

Nobody was going to notice a couple of screaming coonasses — but you know what people will notice? Players.

They will bear responsibility for creating any negative narratives about our culture that stick — not a handful of drunk mouthbreathing dudes with high school diplomas.

If they have an issue with an account on Twitter, they should confront that account directly (way more fun anyway).

So to be clear, I’m upset with those players. Not this board or the fans.

You are correct.
Pelini should be fired.
Kids should be coached by a legit DC, not their fault he is a moron and our beloved Coach O made a shitty hire.
Anyone attacking our players is likely a Walmart fan to begin with.

The level of performance and effort by players as defending NC is disgusting.

shite, whatever gets them motivated I don’t care . It’s not like they can tell us not to go to the games. We can’t go anyway.

I agree.

Let's just attack Pelini. The guy is an a-hole anyway.

This is fair.

My concern is that this catches legs just because we’re melting straight off of a Natty and we wind up with some sort of “Philly of college football” label.

Wouldn’t still be here if we didn’t care... disappointment and criticism are warranted.

I’m telling you right now. Nothing can bond a group together more than hate for something. Let them hate us. I really don’t care. If it makes them play better then I’m all for it. Worked wonders for Miles teams in his prime.

Some criticism is warranted, like pointing out celebrations on tackles 38 points in. Criticism within this board — where we talk about sports exclusively — is a lot different from tweeting “please transfer” at someone’s personal account.

So everything applies within reason and context. But you get the point.

Players need to be watching film instead of reading their press clippings. No leadership on this team. Clark and Stevens on Defense are an embarrassment to 18 & 7.

In order to be a hillbilly, you need hills. We don’t have them.

Can someone explain why the players are getting a pass? I don’t have eyes on
Pelini when they’re busting a 30 yard run, but everyone else is loafing or looking for someone else to make the tackle

The players aren’t completely getting a pass. This website has been pretty harsh on some players for looking like they weren’t trying, but when receivers are running with nobody around them and the players are looking at each other and clearly saying “I thought you had him” that falls to the coaches for communicating responsibilities to the players during the week/not playing players that can execute it.

Stevens is a strong safety being asked to cover the opposing team's primary receiver(at least Saturday) It's a mismatch but if he does not respect that guy in his zone it is a bigger problem.
