I really like Beckwith, so I don't want to have to argue against him, but he is not a better MLB than Benardrick McKinney, Reggie Ragland, A.J. Johnson, Ramik Wilson, et al. He may be down the road, but not right now.

This is the problem, our fans are delusional.

And none of them are able to efficiently back up a frosh. That's the crux of the whole post and question. ???

Beckwith is a SO...?

And Welter is a Sr...?

Yeah, I like beckwith a lot. But the hyperbole that many on here say about him is a little much.

do we see Feist or Garrett back him up?

I'm curious about what's going on with him. I thought he'd be able to make an impact this year.

My bad.

But you're not getting the question.

We don't have an upperclassman that can ABLY back him up. We should have two more guys that are better than welter ready to step in. Not give up ten+ yards up the middle.

I dont think Beckwith went from the worst MLB to the best in that amount of time

What are you talking about? He's had reps all season. Obviously he was never the worst. We don't always roll with 3 line backers. Hell against Wisconsin we lined up with 4 to help stop the run. In passing Downs we were rolling with kwon and debo or just kwon. The coaches saw the potential there or he wouldn't have been given reps. And to top that off you have feist and garret that haven't really played. So we have 4 guys that can play the mike in a 4-3. Beckwith went from 2nd string to first string.

how many MLBs do you think we need?

a couple of the LBers from the 2012 class transferred, one of which would have been a MLB, so that kinda hurt depth

Not really that delusional. He is averaging right at 8 tackles a game since becoming our starter.

Delusional to think he's 1st string all sec when he's not the best in our division. That's the problem. Fans think our players should be better than everyone else, as if other teams don't recruit top players.

Our fans think we should win every game with our talent. A lot of teams have talent, not just LSU.

It's really a question about coaching.

There should be a guy that has ability combined with playbook knowledge ready to go.

The transfers that you are talking about means that an issue has surfaced. Why did they transfer? Were the not good enough? If so, why were they offered? I know you catn bat 100% but damn, what is going on with our talent eval and development? That's a serious issue that some other coaches don't have problems with.

we have had 1 miss at MLB

before Welter we had Minter and Sheppard

now we have Beckwith

MLB has not been a problem with the coaching staff

La hasn't produced many backers. Hill and hilliard played rb, on other teams guys with that size play linebacker. Its a Louisiana thing. Our best linebacker is from Alabama.

Minter, Sheppard, Riley. All ga boys. People bitched about taking Sheppard, said he was too small to play mike, we would struggle against power teams. Maybe the fans don't know more than the coaches.

This year and last year it has.

And again, other sec coaches have developed second and third stringers. We havent.

it was a problem for 1.5 years

Beckwith, the 2nd stringer earlier this year, seems to have developed, no?

I think the Chief was a little slow to put Beckwith as a starter. Its hard to blame Les for this one.

I replied to you because you were the last one that posted. You are the idiot here that thinks Louisiana has more NFL prospects than other states. I just proved you wrong again. We had to go out of state to find our best linebackers. There is no way to spin that. Dolt.

Nowhere do I mention that linebacker must come from Louisiana. Damn you are so fricking dumb.

You don't prove points here. You just type and hit send, kid.

You are still a long, long way from understanding anything that went on in the last conversation. A loooong way!

But I learned that asking you anything about football is the absolute wrong thing to do. That's why I.......didn't ask you a thing!
