What are your thoughts on the move? Is he big enough/strong enough to play the position? At 293 he seems light to be playing NT even in a 2-gap 3-4 scheme. Are we going to rely heavily on Edwin Alexander and Gilmore to back him up? There seemed to be a few runs in the spring game where he was double teamed by the center and guard and moved off his spot pretty easily.

I think it presents matchup problems and good for lsu
I don't think we've seen the whole package, my guess is he will move around some too

He also had 2 sacks. I don't know who was playing on the oline, but he had 2 sacks.

Perhaps the thinking is that LaCouture would be moved just as easily, so why not use the guy who could wreak more havoc?

I would like to see what Chidi V. Okeke could do as a NT.

I know he's "the prototypical LT" and everything, but if he really has the outstanding athleticism we've been hearing about, then he could provide both size and speed in a special formation.

I'm not saying that he should be moved there permanently, but you're able to get a superior talent on the field, show a bulkier defensive front to stop the run, and a seek-and-destroy assignment on defense might be easier to pick up than various blocking schemes for a relatively new football player.

A 6'6 OT who needs to work on staying low at nose tackle?

Hes only around 15 pounds heavier than Godchaux anyway

He's got the technique, skills, savvy, and toughness to handle the move and excel. Godchaux is one of those players I just don't worry about. If he's in the line up, he's good as gold.

The way I see it is if a team wants to double godchaux to run up the middle, go for it. You've just left beckwith unblocked. Have fun with that.

And if you don't double him he'll destroy your center and blow the play up. I actually like this move a lot the more I think of it.

I don't think its out of the question at all to see those guys get in the rotation. Especially Lawrence. I have a feeling Aranda will use damn near everyone on the roster to get different looks.

He's going to wreak havoc on centers (usually the weakest OL).

He moved over a couple times to RE that I saw. After he sniffed out that screen I started watching him a little more closely. He's going to do good things this year.

Yep, a lot of people forget sometimes the smallest guy on the line and the most vulnerable is the center. If Godchaux requires 2 blockers more power to him, that frees up a LB.

I still have nightmares about T-Bob going up against Mount Cody back in the day.

Godchaux should play de and lacouture should play nt. We dont have a prototypical 3-4 dt on the roster.

Jay Ratliff and leroi glover played this position pretty well at under 290.

Sure, but as a NT he should draw the double team and hold his ground.
