I realize the timing of this ain’t the best with NSD tomorrow and I’m by nature not a pessimist, but for Les to be fully championed as HC again he needs to demonstrate (not tell) that he has learned from the mistakes made on 1/9/12.

Les is a good coach – a very good coach. He can become a great coach if he learns his lessons.

So what specific lessons should Les learn from 1/9/12? Just asking the Rant to weigh-in.

From the Rant: Below self explanatory, game appears to have been thrown.

Screens? Draws? Dump offs?

Didn't see much of that.

I can dump it on a coach though.

A coach who started calling running up the middle plays late in the third.

And then in the fourth. More running up the middle.

And the full back dive on 3rd and 4.

Then punting on fourth and 4.

The offense was out of sync, bland, unprepared and shaken. The starting qb was awful. 3 fumbles, 2 interceptions.

Jan 9 is still painful to think of. My answer is TBD because the reality of what happened is still shocking.

For what it's worth Les has always done better when doubted the most

i swear....its like Les Miles became LSUs coach on January 8th, 2012. Either that....or half this board got clubbed over the head like a baby Harp seal and completely lost their long term memory.

I dont think he will "learn his lesson." The BCS NC game was way too easy to be able to, or try to, change the flow of the game, and he didn't even attempt to. The reason is, is because he is STUBBORN. So he will never learn his lesson because he is too stubborn, and it is his way, or nothing else.

No, he could have gotten some input from another coach, like the Offensive Coordinator or Krag. You cant tell me that Stud or Krag didnt want to put Lee in.

the admins have been asked by LSU to put some limits on expressions on the rant because there are so many media, players/families and recruits lurking on the site...so expect diversions from any engagement in this topic, as it will be seen as contrary to the behind-the-scenes edict levied to the admins. as evidence, they anchored this thread.

So, moveon.org...well never get an answer.

The frick?

No they haven't. You have no clue as to what you're talking about.

This thread is anchored A) because it's got a shitty two-word title, and B) because the topic has been beaten to death.

don't play a bama squad just as good as us that had the motivation of having lost to us at home and didn't have to play their way into the natcham?

don't play the only qb on the team who didn't gag every time he saw crimson?

don't think a team that has responded to every challenge in a brutal 13-0 season will not do what they have been doing all season?

don't ever expect the LSU fans to respect your decisions, your heart, your manhood no matter how many games you win...no matter how many kids you graduate?

don't ever hire Gary Crowton, or anybody like him, ever....ever....ever....ever again. why would I mention GC when talking about 1-9-11? it should be obvious.

Obviously, you are medication is wearing off. The words reason and thought have no place on this site, but I have to believe that the sting of that loss will propel Coach Miles into a place where that he never wants to visit again. I hope he puts more stock in the assistant coaches pleas to change things went change is warranted. I don't know what they say, but I have to bleive that they said something on Jan. 9th.
