Ben has no thoughts. He's another one who just posts insults bc that's all he's got.

He seems to have a crush on me. He digs my witty humor I guess

Les Miles and Mark Richt both had similar issues, resulting in high preseason rankings because of talent in certain position groups, but underperforming because of mismanagement.

Kirby Smart showed how quickly a good coach can turn that around. I hope O can do the same.

O has the team to do it IMO if the offense is just consistent it could be a great year.

I've been told that the recruiting coordinator only recruits the players that the head coach tells him to

That is true but an assistant can recommend players.

One of my favorite LSU stories is k'lavon Chaisson. He wasn't even playing football and showed up at an LSU camp with his buddy - Eric Monroe. Didn't even have the proper shoes. Eaux convinced him to workout and it wasn't long before he went and got Les to see him. He was offerered on the spot.

The funny part was when K'lavon called his grandmother to tell her of his offer. Since he wasn't even playing high school football it would be an understatement to say she did not completely believe him. I don't think he was ever able to convince her over the phone.

But yeah, the HC has final say on who gets his scholarships to fill out the team.

Coach O can't be blamed for the lack of talent in the trenches

Why would anyone even try to? He was hired at LSU in Jan 2015 a few weeks before signing day. For 2016 Frank was the RC and Les was the HC.

So, that would mean over half of your list that your crediting O for were also recruited because of Miles.

Or possibly "in spite of" Miles. Or maybe the two coaches actually worked together to improve a glaring weakness. Maybe Les realized that after Brick Haley he would be better off listening to someone who actually was knowledgeable about defensive line.

This is what I was eluding to and I agree on the Chaisson story. I remember that as well. That's good stuff.

I am not a follower in life.

I don't have a problem with ree. He is a positive person. But, I'm glass half full as well. I'd much rather that, than the constant sinking shrimpboat bs

Appreciate the attempt and your analysis. I do think you have to give Les credit for the guys recruited in 2016 as it was on his watch.

Eaux was listed as recruiter for every player the OP listed for 2016. .

As an excuse. Which one is it?

It's always "Les did this" or "Les didn't do this" with this group. Never what's in front of them right now.

The ship is his. fricking captain it and stop blaming the guy who is not here for any future problems.

IF what I was told was true, then the following guys were identified by Miles as head coach since he was head coach at the beginning of the recruiting cycle in the 2016 season:

2015
Arden Key (only a few weeks after getting the job)

What were you told? Arden would have never stepped foot on LSU's field wearing a uniform if not for Eaux. Arden would have probably gone wherever Eaux was at and if Eaux wasn't coaching probably Georgia, Alabama, Auburn or Clemson.

I'm also not sure what you mean by "identified".

The ONLY reason O is at LSU right now is because Les knew he had to build up the DL.

Brick and Chavis were terrible recruiters.

And sure Les ultimately is to blame but simultaneously, you don’t generally fire someone like a Chavis who was pumping out solid defenses. And Brick he turned Brockers and Logan into NFL DTs from like 3 stars.

Saying O is doing something that Les wouldn’t have is bullshite, because o is doing what Les hired him to do.

So no where

Since O was coaching no where and none of those schools were hiring him.

Aranda has done fantastic as DC but he's had his fair share of bad performances as well, mostly attributed to zero depth and a serious lack of development under Miles' watch.

In Aranda's first year, he and Eaux went on a recruiting trip. Of course, Aranda was reading something and made an astonishing discovery that he shared with Eaux - LSU had more kickers on scholarship than linebackers !!!
