I have no issue w Miles the man and the coach. He's done MORE for LSU than anyone in his time here. He's the best recruiter in the business along side our previous coach. Sometimes 2nd best is not a bad option. I think Coach Miles just needs a good dual option QB (or at least one that can pass and run when needed) to succeed in the national picture. We have not had than since Perriloux.

If 2014 recruiting haul is half of what is projected and we have a dual threat QB then nationally we are back in contention. This year was a rebuilding year and everyone knew it - losing that many underclassman to NFL would have been devastating to any other program.

We've lost 3 games to 3 VERY quality teams at their stadium - with quality effort in every game. So what if we're not in top 10.

The goal is to win the national championship and keep your program strong! If Mett can play against A&M he should. If Jennings can play to help promote 2014 season then by all means put him in the game! If Jennings gets quality reps from here on in then 2014 could be special. I'm sure Miles is on top of this! His job is secure - for at least another season. Geaux Tigers!

Les Miles is not perfect. This may be a shock to some, but Saban isn't either. Programs struggle from time to time, but one thing we've had with Miles is pretty damn good consistency. We've never had a "choke" year under Miles, like Auburn being 3-9 (0-8) or Florida this year. We've been relevant ever since he's been here, and people quickly forget the 13-1 season just two years ago.

You think that OM squad with half their players out was a quality team? Hey, Coach!!
Eta: Im more of a CLM supporter than not, but to say that the team that Ole Miss fielded that night was a quality team is just false. We made them appear to be a quality team.

Was NOT quality effort @ OM, CLM even admitted so!
UGA was best effort except for D, Bama 2nd half was NOT quality effort by OL (see Mett crawling like a baby at the end)!
CLM will not put him in vs ATM for any quality reps and not sure what he is on top of except about 4.5 Million.
That said I expect us to not finish 2nd on the 23rd or 29th! LOL

You need to get over the Ole Miss Game. This has been going on for Decades between LSU and Ole Miss. A long time ago in Oxford, Mississippi and the year was 1960. Ole Miss was 10-0-1 for the year and LSU was 5-4-1 for the year. So what was the Tie? The Game was in Oxford, Mississippi and it ended in a 6-6 tie. LSU should have won 7-6 as they missed an Extra Point.

What? Since when is a 5th year senior QB a "rebuilding" year.

Lose by 20 to JFF.
Win by 9 vs Arky.
Beat North Texas in Liberty Bowl by 28.

2014 =. 9-3 or 8-4

While I think Les is a good guy and a good (not great) recruiter, he is lacking as a sideline tactician on game days and seems lost at times in situations that the average fan appears to understand better than him. He has zero time management skills and is apparently very hard headed and slow to recognize that he needs to make a change - be it to a game plan that is not working or to remove an ineffective staff member.

I don't get his dog house rule for fumbling when other errors like INTs, muffed punts, and dumb arse personal fouls are not addressed. Additionally, he seems to not get the Ole Miss thing at all. We are regularly unprepared to play a team that is jacked up to play us.

Other than that he is great.....

Nick Saban did way more for LSU than what Les Miles has done

And this is all that matters, really. If you played hard and lost to a good team, then you have no right to complain.

Everyone begged for a pocket passing quarterback. Since this year's defense and offensive line sucks, everyone wants to go back to a dual threat quarterback. Mettenberger has actually done pretty damn good with the offensive line he has to work with. But hey, LSU is full of fair weather fans who will turn on a player with one bad game.

Katy tiger I agree with you , given les,s record can't be denied, lack of attention to certain things certainly can. In some ways he has bn more of an embarrassment to lsu than any other coach we have had. Some things never makes since with him, most of the time he is accused of only wanting to run the ball , in the OM game if lsu never threw a pass and ran every down we would have won, so he went away from running to passing . Met made several bad throws we lose!

I have read posts about something not being right within the program. I don't think it's anything specific I just think it's a lack of discipline. You can't run a program like LSU and be as easy going as Miles. It takes someone who will teach nothing but discipline and consistency to keep high end athletes motivated and out of trouble.

If Les had a doghouse rule for himself he and Mike would be close buddies by now.

Ole Miss wasn't a quality team. They were decimated with injuries. I will give them credit. They wanted it more than LSU did. Miles is the Pope right. Except when he speaks on matters of football he is infallible. I don't agree that you have to have a dual threat QB to be effective. Bama won 3 of 4 titles proving that formula wrong. They may win another this year. It's all about balance and who surrounds your QB. If you don't have a stud QB that can carry your team then you better have a good supporting cast. Bama has that and don't have the ups and downs some programs do when they rely too heavily on 1 player.
