I love when someone always throws this crap out when your criicizing the coach and have hurt their feelings. If I'm delusional than you are a complete inept moron that can't face the truth even if it is right in front of you. Long story short, Miles shouldn't settle for Chiefs defense playin like this, and needs to make the neccessary adjustments, if this was a top ten team they opened up against, this would have been a sure lost.

Wat the frick is so hard to understand here?

We are fricking loaded with NFLers on our roster, yet we struggle against teams that may have one or 2 draft picks on their roster. Why? Because of shitty coaching.

Its amazing how his team is playing given its talent level.

There, sir, fixed it for ya. You shouldn't be so damn harsh on yourself.

BTW, so you think that Les shouldn't "settle" for Chavis and his defense playin' like this??? What do you suggest, armchair head coach??? Perhaps he should have fired him in the first quarter???

BTW, other than the late garbage TD on the last play of the game, UW only managed a FG in the second half, so regardless I would say that there were some adjustments done- just sayin'

I guess by your logic that Mark Richt should start packing his bags, too. Right? He's won an SEC title and probably had a better team than we did two years ago, but it just isn't enough. It's never enough for some of you people.

I get so confused. THe consensus was up until 9:30 pm Central that "the Chief" was the best thing since sliced bread

If Rant folks are such experts on "shitty" Coaching then how in the world did they not pick that up over his long career

if that were so, you would have removed yourself, period. and no arse clown I don't suggest he remove the guy, obviously that would be jumping the gun, but just make it known as a good HC does that that type of defensive ball is not acceptable, that is all.

I never was on the Chief bandwagon, his defenses at Tenn were just ok to me.

I hope last nite was a fluke but Les is starting to prove something i was told by current and former players. That majority of payers were loyal to Pelini, that he had the most to do with them winning the championship. That Miles just doesnt have a presence in the locker room. Diff showed last year once Pelini was gone.

There definitely were defensive adjustments. There were no big plays in the run game after the second drive. Other than their garbage time drive, we reduced them to nothing but Jake Locker doing it by himself by halfway through the third. He's a good athlete. Give him a little credit.

That said, the secondary did play way too loose last night. Remember, we had that problem for Pelini's first two games. We were going from all man to man to a lot of zone. Then last year, we actually used a lot more man again than with Pelini. Now we are going back to primarily zone coverage in a completely new scheme. Give them a couple of games to adjust. We have a top shelf secondary coach. He will get through to these guys.

Also, bear in mind that we are only going to face three QBs (Tebow, Snead, and Mallet) as good or better than Locker in the SEC, and two of them come late in the season.

And yet he has 2-0 BCS bowl record (compare that to Mr. Stoops and Mr. Saban); 4-0 bowl record, a National Championship to boot. He has an SEC championship, won the west with a 1 loss regular season, despite Katrina, etc. Has continued to be a top recruiter, has never lost a nonconference game at LSU (compare that to Mr. Saban). Had 3 straight years in the top 10.

I wasn't really happy about last night's performance, but really, to think he is the worst coach or even in the bottom 3 or 4, is not looking at the facts.
In no particular order:

Spurrier. Right now I would take Miles over Spurrier. South Carolina looks about as mediocre now as when he took over. He was terrific at UF. Not so much now. Yes, South Carolina is a much more difficult place to win than Florida, but there is more to it than that.

Nutt. Hasn't won a championship in 11 years coaching in the SEC. In 11 years of head coaching in the SEC, he has only 1 season with 10 wins. Never yet has lived up to the hype. Does better with less, but hasn't yet proved he can win at the top level.

Richt. In his 9th year of coaching UGA. 2 SEC championships. No NCs. Won't win the SEC this year either. You remember the Sugar Bowl fiasco v. West Virginia? Didn't do so well yesterday either. Somehow he hasn't justified the hype. (Yes, it seems his team is always plagued by injuries, but again he has been there nine years and no NC.)

Mullen. Pretty much an unknown at this point as HC.

Johnson. Good coach for Vandy. But not better than Miles.

Brooks. Doing a good job at Kentucky. Still not one of the top tier coaches in the SEC.

Chizik. Not very impressive at Iowa State. How he will do at Auburn remains to be seen.

Kiffin. Another unknown. We know he has a big mouth, but not much else yet.

Petrino. Did a good job at Louisville, but again, something of an unknown as to how that will translate into the SEC.

Saban. Obviously a great coach. But he has his moments- Iowa, Utah, ULM, UAB, etc. Many fans were howling after the 2004 Oregon State game, if you recall. Most would rank him at or near the top of the SEC. No real objection to that.

Meyer. Probably right now the best coach in the SEC.

Overall, based on record and achievement, Miles is probably in the top 3, not the bottom 3 at this point. This year will be a big factor in determining where he fits in the coaching hierarchy in the SEC, but he definitely doesn't belong in the bottom 3 or 4 at this point.

Intelligent post TigerInRidgeland. Thank you for your accurate analysis.

Tiger fans need to calm down. I was not pleased with the vanilla offense and zone coverage in the secondary, but to believe Miles and Chavis are suddenly sideline idiots is, well, idiotic. Both guys have been in the business a long time and I guarantee you that corrections will be made. The offense will open up as Jefferson gains more experience and I have no doubt you will see LSU utilize more man coveage as the defense was MUCH better once Chavis began to press the line of scrimmage.

Aight, genius, so you simply suggest that Les "make it known" that type of defensive ball is not acceptable. Les to da Chief "that is not acceptable!!!". That'll fix it!!!!

Geez, I just LOVE these armchair head coahes. NEWSFLASH- the Chief KNOWS it's not acceptable. It was the FIRST game, and I seem to remember Pelini's first game at Az St, and how most of the purple and gold nation wanted him whacked after that game- how did it turn out???

I really do think that there is not defensive mistake from last night that is not coachable. We return home to Death Valley on Saturday night, and I really think you will see a very improved defense and a much better gameplan against the Commodoormats.

I agree why can't these people see we gave up 477 yards to a 0 and 12 team. out of about 18 first down plays we ran 14 up the middle for no more than 1 or 2 yards. And last mlies is holding the play calling back and running the 3 yards and a cloud of dust. also the chavis zone d sucks , wake up people!!!!
