Remember at the end of the 2011 Alabama game, he said, quite graciously and so politically correctly, that he would be honored (or something like that) to play Alabama again in the same season?

But, he should have said, frick NO. They had their shot, at HOME no less, and they lost it.

I truly think Les' graciousness influenced BCS pollsters and helped the media, ESPN especially to craft a narrative to push Bama into the title game against us and get their ratings and clicks.

Had he lobbied for Okie state successfully, LSU would have blown them away by at least 20 points, then gone down as one of the greatest college football champions in history.

A rematch against Alabama? He should have known he would not get the turnovers the second time around. And Bama and Saban made him pay for his stupidity and excessive graciousness.

It cost him a shot at football immortality and being considered as possibly the most dominant GOAT college football team of all time and up there with the 01 hurricanes and 90s Nebraska.

It would've given him job security to at least 2020 and possibly beyond.

biggest mistake was using an archaic offense. He didn't say frick No bc he isn't a coward. Bama shouldn't have been gifted with a rematch, but who wants their head coach to say what amounts to being scared?

I bet you'd be hard pressed to find a worse ST coach than Peveto. he's not even middle of the pack. Neither of them are, really.

I thought you were an angry Texas fan and the answer was gonna be letting Trent Domingue leave.

Les's comments had zero effect. There were already talks about a rematch in the championship game which is why he was asked about it.

It was obvious that they were the two best but we beat them. Everything was handled correctly by us but there was no way ever ever ever ever that they would have allowed LSU to have it so they gave us the toughest challenge, beat a good team twice. Les totally f-ed it up and embarrassed the university

No way lsu beats Alabama again doing the same thing. If Mettenberger takes over after 2011 seccg and starts 1/9 then lsu would have had a punchers chance. There was no chance Jefferson was gonna beat bama 3 times in a row. Beating bama 3 times in a row makes you one of the greatest quarterbacks in history and Jefferson is not that great.

Saban emasculated him on 1/9 and the football team has never recovered from it.
