Les Miles is a better head coach right now than he has ever been. What's not to like about him going forward?

Just think what if we still had Saban do you think he would have done the same as Les here or would he have let it ride??

I think the thread at the top of the rant is a little misleading. We weren't "hit" with a years probation. Our self-imposed two year probation was reduced by the NCAA into a 1 year probation. The NCAA kept the self-imposed scholarship reduction, added one more season to the 10% visit sanction, and reduced the probation. We came out about as golden as we could with this.

Can't compare the two IMO. I think Saban runs a pretty clean ship in Alabama as well. But you can't get into the "well if Saban were still here" scenarios. Those should be done with now.

Not sure. I would guess that the NCAA could dig up something on just about any team in Div 1 football if they wanted to.

Great post and comments, but this is just one thing that makes Les a great coach and I am prud to have him as LSU coach....I honestly can think of NO ONE I would rather have...everyone has flaws and Les wins a ton and seems to run a quality program all the way around, thanks Les, I am happy to contribute to the $4mm- your earn it and thanks

he did hire mcarthy, so part of the blame has to fall under miles. it's not like this was a rogue booster. this was a rogue coach he brought into our program.

i will save my appreciation for the compliance office and the senior member who kept pestering hicks to explain his housing situation.

Well, unless the guy had previous recruiting violations elsewhere, there is really no way to know this would happen until it happened. Right? Are you a perfect judge of character?

If Saban were still here, LSU would have a ton of trophies for #1 Recruiting classes from oversigning and NFL 1st Round draft picks due to his inaccurate reputation as a coach that gets his players ready for the NFL...

Bama reported 44 secondary violations. Maybe probation or something like LSU because they self reported the violations.

he is the head man. everything that happens with this program, including his coaches, is his responsibility.

and i highly doubt dj was perfectly clean in his previous stops.

i admit i dont like miles but i will give him props when he deserves it.

in this case however i think our compliance office saved our arse, specifically the senior official who would not let this go.

When will Les deserve the praise??

I agree. All he has done at LSU is rack up top 5 recruiting classes, a 80% win percentage, National title, 11 wins seasons 4 of 6 years, etc..........

I personally won't respect him until he shrinks a few inches, acquires a false reputation as an NFL coach, and starts demeaning his players.

i gave the man praise after the alabama and cotton bowl wins and pretty much after every recruiting class he's turned in.

Les is awesome he does everything the right way, wins games, and has a personality you can't help but enjoy and laugh at sometimes.

There really is no one I would rather as a head coach also.
