You sure we can do that to any team we face in the future including Bama? Don't make me laugh.

Another tard chimed in...

He didn't say that...but the point is we don't need to throw the football 30+ times a game when we are beating the shite out of our opponents in the first quarter.

dude, we blew them out. les (and no coach should) will ever run the score up. he averaged 18 or so yard per completion.

WE ARE NOT GOING TO THROW MORE THAN 20 TIMES IF WE CONTINUE TO BLOW PEOPLE OUT SO GET OVER IT

Unless you're just an a-hole like ND vs Navy and OSU vs Savannah last weekend. ND still chucking it around up 43-10 against a fricking service academy and OSU while up 63-0.

Basically, our fans who want way more passing are bored with the way Les Miles runs the ball.

And they think he should score 60 points on seriously inferior teams.

Les won't often do that.
It won't change.

You think throwing for 300 yds against UW will prepare us for passing against Bama?

That game will come down to the same thing every year. Who can run the ball with the most effectiveness and which QB can make the plays when needed.

I know its fun hoping Mett will light it up against Bama but in reality, that's unlikely to happen.

Right and we have to throw the ball 60+ times a game to keep up with the teams in the big 12 or something.

Poor qB play was LSU's undoing in that game. As the Coach, is not LM responsible

Did you even watch the game? We were outplayed in pretty much every facet- not just qb. Bama had the second chance revenge factor and used it well.

I'll never understand why LSU fans think that one of the greatest coaches in college football will not learn from past mistakes.

I mean, we treat Les Miles as a liability.
Like a necessary evil.

He's not.

It may have been the first LSU series. Jefferson had the TE wide open down the seem for a TD, but instead threw an out to the sideline. LSU now has a QB who can make the throws, maybe all of them. I just hope that LM takes advantage of all that the personnel on this team have to beat teams like Bama the next time.

It is truly funny to see how some on the board respond to criticism. I thank you all, especially the enlightened vulgarians among you.

Mett was 12/18 for 195 with 1TD. Those 5 drops(one was endzone) would have netted him another 60yds and 1TD. So you're looking at 17/18 255 2TDs. Running to the right Ware hits Landry for a 40yd TD. So you have around 300yds passing with 220yds rushing. Miles was throwing the ball but no reason to frick it up by letting another drop maybe get picked off when all you have to do is run 5 rbs who barely have 5 fumbles between them if that, and they get you scores.

The question is, "Will CLM use the passing game to make the LSU offense nearly impossible to defend?"

I have my doubts.

Wow, I'm really surprised that you would say you have doubts given your general neagtivity about Miles.

did you have doubts from 2005-2007? The passing game was just fine in those years. Yes, QB recruiting and developement for 4 years was bad, there is no getting around that. We can't go back in time and its not something that can be fixed over night. It appears to be heading the right direction with ZM. Hopefully Rivers developes nicely and they have 2 good QB recruits coming in, time will tell but starting a thread a day bnashing the QB play for the last 4 years won't help. Maybe you should stop watching.

You're right, the qb play last year was top notch

Who said anything bout the quality of QB play last yr?
