I mean he had lost it. That doesn't mean that he's not a legend. That he's not one of the best to ever do it or that he wasnt the only voice of the Tigers I ever knew.
I grew up in North Louisiana in the 90s. There weren't a whole lot of LSU games broadcast up there. We had to listen to the radio. And it's Jim's voice I remember the most.
So yes he had lost it and yes I do miss the hell out of him

It was definitely the right time to go. But, I can recall as far back as I can remember people saying he'd lost it. Ha. For me, he's called every great LSU moment in my lifetime so I'll always love to hear him. Whether it's "purposefully" calling the wrong name to make sure you were paying attention, somehow confusing the rules with Hockey rules, or extremely over-biased play calling, I'll miss it! I've enjoyed Blair so far, to be determined...
