I'm on board with this. Even in high school, we used to practice situational base running.
Maybe CPM needs to take the team back to basics in the fall.

It's not always coaching. You shouldn't have to tell a kid who's playing D1 ball "hey don't get picked off at 3rd". It's just easier for everybody to blame the coach --at some point the players have to shoulder some of the blame.
