I just hope that Miles doesn't get Lee injured by making him run the damned stupid option.

Man, I wish Krag was OC'ing this year.

I just want to win, but some of this blind optimism for Lee is stunning. Lee definitely hasn't done anything over the last three years to feel more confident about our QB position.

It has to do with who you're comparing him to here. When JJ had 2 touchdown passes the rest of the regular season after the 1st half of the opener, he didn't exactly set the bar high.

The most popular guy on our football team for the last 4 years now has been the backup quarterback because the quarterback play has been so atrocious.

3rd string guy as a solid following also.

Lee got thrown in as a freshman straight out of high school into the toughest conference and he did an okay job except for the pick 6's.

Wrong qb that was JJ. Either way i still thing we go with two qb system.

Anyone not having confidence in Lee taking care of the ball, do you know how many turnovers JJ had last year, how many ints per pass attempts?

No offense but they have the same amount of career int. So technically jj throws less ints per pass.

Look we are going to run the heck out of the football. We only attempted 299 passes last season. I dont expect us to sling the ball aroud the field. Lee does well when we have to move the bal quick down the field, not when we are controlling the clock.

hopefully someone steps up for us.

Let me help with some facts.

NCAA Passing Offense Total Offense

2010 #102 # 81
2009 # 92 #102 (all those sacks)
2008 # 67 # 51

(Source espn.com)

Our offense performed at a much higher level with a RSFr Jarrett Lee than it did with a two year starter Junior JJ. Maybe that will help you sleep a little better.

Play calling would take on a whole different complexion.

On some throws he looks fine and then all of a sudden he gets happy feet and just gets rid of it. I don't even think its the defensive pressure, don't know what it is.

Throwing off your back foot more times than not rarely leads to success. To me, that's something in his head and isn't easily fixed. Not sure if it's the speed of the game or just fear of getting hit, but I hope to god he has improved. Come on JLee! Step up!

If not, what indications are there that Mett could be the real deal?

Major footwork probs.

as I said yesterday,.., who knew we have so many qualified qb coaches on this board.

At this point of Lee and JJ ccarreer lets just hope they get the job done.. move chains and score some points.

I dont know if yall realize this but the 4 th down throw vs tenn Lee made,.. guess what?? he threw offf his back foot... why? bc he was backpeddling moving to his right waitng for TT to clear.
