That being said JL is our QB and will be our starter until either JJ comes back or he gets injured.
WTF. ARE YOU STUPID? This time last year was the beginning of JJ's infamous streak of 7 games without a touchdown. How could you even say this? JJ is the absolute worst passing qb LSU has had in the last decade, even worse than Marcus Randall. Seriously, JJ will never play another down for LSU -- and if he does -- Les Miles should be fired.

Look at the number of passes he has underthrown. Look at the number of deeper passes that WRs have to stop and wait on.
Lee's arm isn't actually the problem. He actually has a pretty good arm....Mett just has a great one. Lee always has had bad footwork and throw's off his back foot..etc..etc... (there are about 5 threads on it right now I'm sure.) Anyway, it leads to all these inaccurate and under thrown passes. Lee's arm is actually stronger then Danny Wuerful's ever was, there was just the glaring other reasons that it was a stupid comparison.

So high velocity IS essential to being a successful QB?
I feel like I am talking to children here.

Roaad, it's like talking to a brick wall. Don't waste your time.

And based on that he still started. CLM still sent him back out there every week right? No where in my post did I say who should start dumbass but based on logic(something you apparently have no clue about) CLM would most likely start him over JL again.

Why do you try and point out how stupid everyone else is when you are clearly the one that is being retarded. Jarrett Lee isn't very fricking accurate. When the pocket collapses he almost always takes some horrible 10 yard sack for loss. We don't even try half the throws most QBs do in fear that it will be 6 points in the other direction. Jesus Christ, why in the world would anyone not let the stud sitting on the bench at least have a few snaps against SEC competition to see how he does and if maybe he isn't a little better at this stage in his career? I've even said Lee should remain the starter until Mett can prove otherwise.....but Mett at least needs a shot at doing this.

I fail to see where anyone said to not play Mett in SEC games. Just cause he's not the starter doesn't mean he won't play. Les played two QBs in SEC play last year, so why wouldn't he do it this year?

How many games in a row did Lee throw a pick 6?

Having some kind of skill is essential to being a successful QB. Does Jarrett Lee have any skill that compares to Wuerffel's accuracy?

he was in another thread saying we don't need the QB controversy of letting Mett get any P.T. It was whacked.

Well, I think there is a difference between what happened last season and this season. Having Mett come in for a drive or two is fine. If Lee is sucking it up, I would hope Les would give Mett a shot, but I mean really sucking it up. That would need like JJ levels of sucking from last season.

Pretty much exactly what I have been saying, and Roaad has been disagreeing with. I do think if Mett comes in and lights it up, he needs to start even if Lee is adequate though.

I don't think you start Mett unless Lee is playing inadequately and/or has lost the team's support. His experience will come in handy, even if he can't offer us the things that Mett can in some instances.
May not be my way of handling it, but if Les wasn't willing to bench JJ last season, he won't bench Lee just for being outplayed in a portion of a game.

Jarrett was really sharp tonight. If they get something near this from him all year he will do enough to win every game imo.
Mett looked really fundamentally sound and had a good arm but if he's not comfortable with the whole playbook there's no way he should start. It's good to get him reps though.

Mett won a juco national Championship last year while Lee was getting 2 or 3 series a game last year. I know there is a big jump, but I really don't think it would be throwing him in the fire so to speak. I'm just saying if he outplays Lee, then let Mett play more and more as time goes and game plan accordingly.

Not completely disagreeing with you. I am simply going by Les' history. JJ will likely be back soon too, and Mett will likely go back to 3rd string. That is another issue.

Well, of coarse. I was talking about what I want to happen and the way I want things to be handled. lol

I was there too.
I think Mett played to:
A. Like you said, rest Lee
and
B. Give the kid some reps in a game. He looked very good and comfortable, very accurate throws, but I agree, he won't start.

I saw very little difference btw lee and mett tonight so I see little reason y lee should bench based on this game.
Considering we are talking about a 5th year senior and a redshirt sophomore though it speaks volumes about the former that there was little difference btw the 2
