If you think we're better off, you're delusional. If you pull for J.L. then you're like me.

I'm glad that Les put Lee in last year to utilize his strengths as a passer. He gained good experience in those high pressure situations that will pay great dividends this year.

I am honestly curious.

Lee has a quick release and is much more accurate than JJ. He was thrown to the wolves in 08 and never really recovered. He has shown signs of brilliance and will then regress and make mistakes. He is not mobile at all, but he can actually hit a receiver in stride and is much more of a passing threat than JJ. We lose the running ability of JJ but gain a legit vertical passing game that Ds must respect.

Watch film of 2008 Lee, 2009 Lee against Louisiana Tech and then 2010 Lee against Auburn and stretches of the Tennessee game. Alot of threads on here are saying he's amazing but they have agendas, watching his play from an independent perspective and see how in some ways he still has the bad habits he displayed as a redshirt freshman.

Well, if he gets rattled by pressure, (which is what Newman was alluding to) our 3-4 zone blitzing scheme will be a bitch.

They have to get past our o line first.

Oregon has a pretty complex blitzing scheme dude. I get what you are saying. However, we have an extremely athletic dline and a complex scheme. We installed a more expansive package this fall. The defense is always ahead of the offense in the first game. I have more confidence in our extremely athletic lbs (kaddu, lokombo and clay) to get to the qb at this point in the season. Besides, I wasn't at all impressed with your oline's pass protection at times last year. The ducks will get after it.

he might take a couple sacks, but I dont think any defense will be feasting on our quarterback. Pretty confident in the o line this season

Yep--- And our running game should be much improved. If we can protect Lee early on and give him time with better blocking and play action, we should be able to wear them out as the game goes on.

I agree... I cant help but to stay positive through this when I look at the big picture. Experienced line, stable of more than capable backs, and a threat to pass. It also helps knowing I don't have crowton to raise my blood pressure through the roof! Lol

Bisonduck, as an Oregon fan, you more than most should understand what it's like for a first year starter under Crowton. Think Dennis Dixon in 2006. Dixon had 12 TDs and 14 INTs. Most of that was horrible coaching by Crowton. Now realize that Dixon was a JR that year and had played at least some snaps the previous two seasons.

Now realize that Lee was a RS Freshman with no playing experience starting in the freaking SEC with coaching at QB in college only under Crowton. He struggled, and if not for the anomaly of his 7 Pick 6's that year, he'd have basically been Dennis Dixon statistically as a passer (13 TDS, 16 INTS) while also splitting time with another QB.

One year after getting a legit QB coach/OC, Dixon turned into a Heisman candidate and before getting injured was leading your team into an NC shot. Lee doesn't have the legs of Dixon obviously, but only needs to be slightly above average this season to help LSU win. With a legit QB coach (which he has this year), it is believable that he could greatly improve.

Just hand the ball off to ,mixed with some playaction, and we'll be fine. Beat them up in the trenches. Our O-line maybe banged up, but their D-line is young and inexperienced.

Dude didn't watch much film apparently. With time, Lee is an outstandng thrower of the football...great mechanics, super quick release. His problem is when the bombs start going off in front of him he loses his mechanics (throws off the back foot) and makes bad decisions. That has nothing to do with his ability to THROW the football. I have coached QBs in high school for a long time and you see alot of this. A kid lights it up in 7-on-7 and can't make the transition to games because of the pressure the defense sends. There is an art to moving in the pocket and creating lanes and momentum forward throwing the football. Lee hasn't mastered that yet. With all of that being said, a gameplan with alot of quick-game throws (slants, fades, hitches along with the screen and play-action game) fits Lee's styale. If you try to go vertical other than with play action we may be in trouble.

Nothing we haven't seen man. And our O line is going to be even better than last year, believe me we're stout. With the wear and tear our line has seen through this fall camp forgive me for doubting that you can out physical us. We're deep dude. Deeper than your d line probably runs. If you wanna talk trench control with O vs D I think our team has to be the favorite here.
