As a general rule when a line seems this far off I stay away from it. The fact that the game is betting so far to one side means Vegas is betting against LSU.

I can't believe the odds were that close. I would have guessed LSU would have been 12 to 1 or 15 to 1 with that schedule.

I went in with a bunch of friends in 2007 at 11 to 1. We all put up a $100.00 and won. One of the friends found a round trip for 150.00 same day to Vegas and went and got our money.

We have covered every spread except the Kentucky game. We had that one covered until we gave up that long drive in the fourth quarter.

AGREED 100%, I NEVER laugh at vegas, also while I feel we will win by 20+, it is NEVER easy to outdo vegas...ask those who gave the points for UK or NW State...or vs MSU when game was 6-6 in Q3...

you're probably right. But there have been plenty of games, where better teams struggled with lesser foes even losing (See LSU-Florida 2003). Its hard to keep up that pace every week. Tenn is rowdy crowd, all it takes is one busted play, epsecially late or a couple of turnovers and you are lucky to escape with a win and can easily get a back door cover. Trust me I'm enjoying this ride plenty and not looking for the dark cloud behind the silver lining but you can laugh at Vegas at your own peril, it has nothing to do with LSU. They are banking on people like you BTW.

Every SEC road game is a land mine.

I certainly anticipate that we will earn another victory.

But I also know from experience never to take any SEC road game lightly.

A couple of unlikely LSU turnovers and/or a big play or two by UT could make this a game to the end, in front of a rabid crowd fired up to upset #1 on national TV.

This should be another day at the office for the Tigers, but crazy things can happen in any SEC game, especially such a grudge game on the road in front of 100,000 plus.

We need to get them down early and never let them challenge for the W. If the Vols are still in the game late in the third quarter, the Tigers could have their biggest test yet, to get out of there with a victory.

I am confident we will continue to take care of business, but I also know that crazy stuff happens, and you can never take any SEC game lightly.

Don't know where you found that. An acquaintence who keeps up with this and wanted to bet LSU said he never could find anything better than 7-1.

Tenn will be lucky to put a TD on the board. The Tiger D is wanting to smash UT for Chavis

Looking like it ... After about 28 - 0 using 1, 2, and 3 strings ... Guess we'll platoon the SQUAD guys in there and coast

Tennessee may even get 9 on 3 FGs ...

LSU 45 UT 6

I just don't see how they can hang with us. Even if we do turn it over a couple of times early and that keeps it close in the third quarter, I don't see how they even keep up with us from that point unless we just keep turning it over. Anything's possible, but that would be really out of character for our team this year and I doubt seriously our coaches' game plan will put us in positions where that is likely to happen. We'll probably just try to run the ball for the most part and wear them down. If it doesn't work at first, provided our defense keeps them from taking advantage, we'll just keep doing it until they finally break.

Now, covering a 17-point spread may be a different story, but a straight up loss seems highly unlikely.

I've seen Tennessee's crowd before. "Rabid" is not a word that has ever come to mind to describe it. The few times they have been loud and a factor, it's always been when there was a lot on the line for UT. In this game, there's really nothing, except the possibility of a nice but meaningless upset. They're out of the running for the SEC East title or a BCS bowl, and won't finish very high in the polls, if they finish in them at all.

We need to get them down early

That's every team in every game. When is it NOT an advantage to get the opponent down early? We can win this game the way we won the Florida game (jumping on them early and never letting them in it), or the Mississippi State game (grinding it out slowly but surely in a defensive slugfest until we finally overpower them late) or the Oregon game (going back and forth, even falling behind, then blowing them away). The only way we realistically lose this game is if we continuously shoot ourselves in the foot over and over throughout the game. It's possible, but not likely.

Crazy stuff is what it would take, and although it does happen, it doesn't happen very often.

nuts just gets unbanned....and is blasting his opinion now......fwiw folks....nuts has blasted miles every which way possible, predicted doom and gloom for the program, and was on record predicting 7-5 last year.....says lsu will remain mediocre as long as miles here, and NEVER beat a saban coached alabama team or a meyer coached florida team. So, take his opinions fwiw.

I've got LSU -14 and OSU -7. I'm worried because both of those seem too good to be true.

Vegas line is as much psychology as anything else.
Then they move it to make the money play somewhat evenly.

It is not a true indication of team strengh but that of perception
